Straw set

Has anyone ever gotten a straw set on natural hair (unpermed). I have asked a few salons and they said you have to have a perm!!! Once when I was in the Carribbean one of the stylist set my hair (unpermed) with get on rollers and it came out nice.
Can anyone recommend a salon who might do it?? Please help I am desperate to get a nice style for the summer going on my natural hair!!!

You don't have to have relaxed hair to do a strawset. If you go on YT there are lots of tutorials of natural ladies who've done them.

Can you do them yourself if you don't find a salon? I've done them once before, but I don't have the patience

She was just being lazy...it can too be done.
