How many of you ladies do so? What tools do you use and what process do you go through to achieve straight hair? I am interested because my hair has been in braids for months now (with touch ups in between) and I would like to get an idea of how long my hair is when it's straightend before I go back into braids. My hair is layered and the majority of it is either grazing or sitting on my shoulders(unstretched). Any and all suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance ladies!

I usually press my hair whenever I take my braids out. I almost always wear braids and when I don't, my hair is pressed as a rest style. It's harder to maintain straight styles during the summer, so I sometimes get twists or I tie it back.

a ceramic flat iron should do the trick. it is safer on hair too!

Ineedmoney,
would you happen to be in NYC? If so, i would like to visit your hair stylist... Or if you have a NYC suggestion, I would really appreciate this.

The only thing I've got is a hot comb. But like Pandora said, a ceramic flat iron would be my better choice (I don't have one yet, but willing to purchase it in the fall).
