I have a Caruso set and I don’t think you can achieve a spiral set type look with it. I would suggest you try flexirods for this this type of look ( I think I have the image right in my head.)
I am a natural and Caruso’s work very well on my flat ironed hair, I have to make sure to only leave the roller over the steam for 5 seconds and then to wipe of excess water, I put oil and serum in my hair and roll it up for about 15 mins. My hair doesn’t revert at all but has soft full curls not like a spiral set but more like a bouncy kind of curl. My hair also smells great after this.
Caruso’s do not work well on my natural curl hair; I don’t think it has the capacity to actually straighten your hair, its better for adding a soft curl. I haven’t used a heat cap.
