I went back to Ross today and exchanged my broken Split -Ender for a new one. This time I inspected every one of them closely. The only one that was counterfeit was the one I had previously purchased . All of the ones there have smooth bottoms. mine had two screws on the bottom....Doesn't matter now, the one I got today works perfectly. Closes, locks, spins, everything! YAY!!!

P.S. I may even go back to get a back-up just in case this one starts trippin.

I need one of these in my life :look: Please PM me if you are willing to send me one? I'll of course pay for shipping and a courier fee?

I need to go check my Ross tomorrow. I wish I had seen this thread sooner.

ETA: My Ross did not have one :nono:

I took my SE back...the blade looked horrible. I went GREEN and all but damn didn't want a recycled garbage disposal blade. Geez!!!.

SB: My SE had a smooth bottom but the website said the SE is NOT SOLD in any stores. Maybe i'll get another SE but look at it before I buy it.

 they would be at Ross after I purchased one from Ebay a while ago....eh I'm barely using it anyway...lol... Oh..and of course the site says it's not sold in stores.... lol.. U know how all the AS seen on tv ads say it's not sold in stores....2 weeks later u see it in walgreens in the "as seen on tv" section. lol

Oh no! Ladies please read this link: http://splitender.com/1-888-410-6655/warning.htm

The ones at Ross are of poor blade quality! They even have a $1,000 AWARD for convicting the people involved.
Thank you for posting this! I research EVERYTHING before I purchase and I sure appreciate this...I've been to numerous websites and I've read tons of reviews on this product and I think i'll just review some youtube vids and trim my own hair....

What the heck! I guess I have been living under a rock b/c this is my first time even hearing something called’’ Split-Ender’’. Omg ! I read the reviews and the majority of the posts on this thread. Despite my skepticism I definitely need to get my hands on one my SSK’s and splits are getting worse; It is not helping in my journey to WL at all. I wont be using it until I flat iron in December b/c I’m on a no heat challenge, when ready, I will just try a small part in the front where my bangs are to see if it does the job. That way if it chops some hair off I wont be too upset cuz I need to get my bangs cut anyway.
I’m pretty sure I’m too late but I will check Ross on my lunch break and then the one by my house after I get off work.
Thanks OP!

ETA/Review:
I just got mine at Ross yesterday during my lunch hour. It was the last one! The box looked ....not USED but just old; however it did say manufactured in 2003 on the bottom. When I opened the box Mine came with a comb and clip and also a users guide. For those who are skeptical about this being a counterfieit don't be, the Split-Ender that says 'revo" on the box is the original because the users guide has Victor Talavera's face holding the exact same split-ender that was in the box and the patent pending #'s on my box match the ones on his website. I think he was saying the ones in stores are counterfeit because after being managed by Revo he wanted to branch out on his own. (maybe, don't know):ohwell:
I tried it out when I got home and it works fine. My only complaint is that it is rather annoying when you turn it on b/c the motor sounds like an automatic pencil sharpener. Even though my hair is not strait i ran it through three times (as the direction's advise) on a few twist outs and it works great. This surprised me because the rotating 'blade' isn't completely a blade but a steel plate that effectivly pushes the hair to the blades that are located parallel to the steel plate. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend doing it on anything less than flat ironed hair though because it will bring optimal results if you did.
Can't wait til i can try it on my whole head in December for my progress pics. But first I will try it on my sis on Monday before I do her sew in. :yep:
Overall rating I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

If anyone goes to Ross for a Split Ender, please send me a PM. I will gladly pay for it along with any shipping/handling.

I got mine today. It was burried under the flatirons and blow dryers.I think I got the last one. I have my hair twisted and won't be taking them down until tuesday.

side bar, why did the clerk with a rattly blonde weave and naomi campbell edges at ross say to me, "You should get one that cost 14.99 cause that one(the split ender) doesnt plug in. I was confused cause I know if there were a plug in model ya'll woulda said something. I said "I didn't see one with a plug. That was the last o"ne. she continued "we have a whole lot." I looked at her and said are you talking about a flat iron? Yes. I said oh I don't want a flat iron. That's to trim my ends. She looked stupid. why would I take hair advice from somebody who aint got no hair? I'm just sayin.
