it seem like APL is a hump that not many of us have passed whether natural or relaxed

This is why i wanted to start the survey specifically for type 4's

I am hoping we can use this thread to figure a way over the APL/ BSB hump that so many type 4's find themselves in.

Would it be useful for people to say when they reached their current length? Or how long they have been at that length.

It's hard from the post to tell whether a person's trying to get over a hump or they are making great progress.

Shooting for full APL December 2011

You left out chin length .
I'm natural, chin length when in twists, ceiling length after washing. The back of my hair is grazing my shoulders, again, when in twists.

ETA: I'm definitely making progress!!! I am happy with the length I have achieved thus far since BC'ing May 26, 2010 (yes, I have a nappiversary coming up ) I've been "hiding my hair" since around Oct/Nov of last year. I am comfortable now with my new length and will be showing it off very soon .

ETAA: Well, all of my twist can't be stretched to chin length. I'll go with the other poster and say I am between ear and chin for the most part.

I voted APL, but I'm also in that grey area/abyss known as BSB. Not sure if I'll ever get to full BSL.

ETA: Looks like a perfect Bell Curve is forming in the poll.......

Natural 4B, APL in the back, between CL and shoulder length in the sides and front. Shooting for full APL by fall 2011

As of right now, I'm BSL making my way to MBL. Not sure if I'm going to do a cut or trim and I'm not sure of my growth since I'm stretching so I'm undecided about voting on that poll.

Nvm, after reading the whole thread I voted on BSL.

I'm at APL about 2 inches or so from BSL. I've been at APL for the past year though. 2010 was setback after setback for me.

ETA: just compared the survey results in this thread to the one in the original thread (http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=545129) and the curve's are VERY similar when taking into account voting options).

Natural and almost APL (checked in March, but just a few strands touched), hope to be full APL or longer by Dec '11.

4b natural. My sides (near my ears) are APL now, my nape is past my shoulder blades around or near BSL, but I'm about to do my mid-year dust/trim.
