That may be true, but my personal experience, when i looked around the site and read people's actual posts, it made me want to join. The homepage didn't simply do that.But its different for all people.
 
Man, people be getting on some serious side hustles after coming to this site. Makes me wonder if there's a tutorial on it somewhere. "LHCF: Hair community or gold mine? We'll show you how to milk it for all it's worth." :ohwell:

Logically yes. but they may not think that they are doing anything wrong or maybe they didn't want to risk the person saying no.
 
I don't think this is any different than many of us surfing the net, finding pics and articles and posting them in LHCF threads....most times people don't even cite their source when we do it here (I say we because I have done this as well)...noone asks the site owner for permission to copy and paste info from their site.

I thought about this one when someone posted pics of a guy pictures from his site dedicated to his hair growth.

I was thinking, if someone else did this to one of us, everyone would be mad!! LOL

You are so right.
 
I don't think this is really a big deal. I think it would be different if they were altering the post or posting pictures and the reviews trying to mislead readers into believing that all of the reviewers growth came from that product. *shurgs*

A LHCFer said the other day that the reason that she doesn't post progress pictures of herself is because people talk mess about people's bodies. I didn't really believe her since I had never seen it happen. Guess I have to believe her now.

Wow, i am in shock i can't believe my username is up on another site that i haven't even heard of.

I definately feel violated because no one asked me for permission to quote me, and who's to say i still like the ORS cream?!!!

I think i'll have to rethink my avator pic, lordy knows if my face might end up somewhere next.

Yes its true and has been going on from the beginning. You can show your growth w/o being naked on top and the junky bedroom. They sale growth T shirts w/charts on the back to avoid the body shots. Some use the stylist capes or towels to cover their body but show the hair style. We all have lots of options to cover the defects and show the hair growth. I tried to be aware of it all when I had a hair growth album /fotki.

You don't have to be naked to take progress pics. I think thats a common misconception. Just because you see someone else doing it doesn't mean you have too.

Once again, I'm just putting it out there. No sense of not sharing progress simply because you don't want people to see your back fat.

I'm not sure how the whole naked or bra progress pics came about. Maybe someone could shed some light on that.

I totally agree... I wish it all could be made private....I know of some message boards that will let your sign up for a short period of time and if you don't participate by having a certain number of posts within a certain time frame you are deleted...I wish something like that could be implemented here...cut down on some of these lurkers / "inactive members" looking to cause problems, or steal info etc...

But is is were all private, I would never have found the site. Well, I may have gotten a referral from someplace, but I wold not have paid $5 unless I saw the threads.

I found LHCF because I was searching for something hair related in google and one of the searches was LHCF. I started seeing it more and more for most of my searches and after a while joined.

I think we get more members because of the fact that is is not private.

I can see why some would want it to be private though.

What can be done about? :look: Nto much, I don't think. Just the way of the Net.

yep. I've seen my own stuff in Google when searching for stuff.

LHCf is all over google and screen names and fotki links, as well.

Someone can search for Joico K-Pak (and sooo many other products) and you better bet we will be in the results.

I think it's moreso of them not asking for permission before they started quotin folks all willy nilly. True, this is a public forum, so if they really wanted to they could've joined...sent a pm...and left it at that.:yep:

I think because of the Bra Strap Length. Its hard to show that you're that length if you can't show your bra. Me personally, I don't even let it be known when i hit another length. I just grow my hair and post pics. People can look and guess the length.
 
About the pics, if you use the attachments feature, non-subscribers can't see them (one of the reasons I finally paid... yesterday)
 
wow, ppl cant NEVER and I mean NEVER have anything good going w/o some ignorant person messing it up for all. I guess that's just the way it is. *sigh*. I hope something can be done. I don't want LHCF to turn out like myspace (w/ an epidemic of hackers and such).
I'm happy I was referred to LHCF, and I know I'm fairly new, but I am not too thrilled of the idea of like tons and tons of new members neither. I know, I can be selfish, but this is what happens. *pls dont get on me*
