I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WENT WRONG, I WASHED, LAST NIGHT, DEEP CONDITION WITH ubh UNDER DRYER FOR 20 MIN, RINSED IT OUT AND APPLIED CREME RINSE (AUBREY ROSA MOQUETA) THIS IS WHAT I NORMALLY DO.

WELL MY HAIR WAS HARDER THAN USUAL AND CLUMPS, I MEAN TO LONG CLUMPS OF HAIR CAME OUT, IT WAS ATTACHED TO MY ENDS I DON'T KNOW WHAT WHEN WRONG... PRIOR TO THE WASH MY HAIR WAS IN AN UPDO FOR 4 DAYS, BUT I STILL MOISTURIED IT.

WHAT HAPPENED?? DID I MENTION THEY WHERE CLUMPS...

I WAS SO HURT AND CONFUSED THAT I SAID, WHAT THE HELL AND I BLEW IT DRY, NOT BONE DRY BUT I DID IT, I USED THE BLOW DRYER.

TODAY IT FEELS SOFT BUT THERE IS STILL STRANDS COMING OUT ON THE ENDS. SHOULD I REWASH, MY DAUGHTER SAID MAYBE i DID'NT WASH OUT THE CONDITIONER GOOD. I DON'T KNOW...

I DID'NT LET THE CREME RINSE STAY ON AS LONG CAUSE I WANTED TO GET OUT THE SHOWER BUT IT WAS ON ABOUT 3 MIN. THE DIRECTIONS SAY A LEAVE A "FEW".

I SO HURT I WAS DOING SO GOOD, NOW THIS.

DID I MENTION THEY WERE CLUMPS... /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I don't know what went wrong. I have never used the UBH conditioner. I wish I could help. Lord knows I've had some disasterous results with hair products--most recently with Redken Heavy Cream Conditioner. /images/graemlins/mad.gif
I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're having trouble and give you a cyber hug.

mindy, is the creme rinse a moisturizn conditioner?? have you read cathy's book?? her UBH cond. has protein in it so it would have been best to follow the UBH with a moisturizn conditioner and then a creme moisturizn lotion to damp hair followed by air drying. PLEASE dont give up!!!

Mindymouse,

Were the clumps breakage or did the clumps have bulbs and were shedding? Are you due for a touch-up?

If you're due for a touch-up maybe that's what is contributing to the breakage. I can tell you that my hair has been breaking recently and what really helped was a wash with Creme of Nature (green & yellow bottle), Nexxus Emergencee for 10 mins. (no heat just shower cap) and then Motions CPR with showercap/no heat for 45 mins. I hope this helps you!

PANDORA, YESSS. I have the book I have been following this since October this has never happened before. Yes the Rosa Moqueta is a moisturizing conditioner (supposedly).

It just floored me cause this is my usaul routine

Here are the ingredients for the Rosa. Is this a Good product?

If the problems was that I did'nt leave it on long enough should i rewash tonight and start over??

Rosa Mosqueta® Rose Hip Conditioning Hair Cream
Potent hair moisturizer with Rosa Mosqueta® oil, amino acids and natural vitamins. Hydrates and revitalizes dry, overstressed hair.

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Coconut Fatty Acid, Coltsfoot Extract, Horsetail Extract, Rosa Mosqueta® Rose Hip Seed Oil, Natural Grain Alcohol, Fatty Acid Powder, Wheat Germ Oil, Amino Acid Complex (Methionine and Cysteine), Organic Aloe Vera*, Primrose Oil, Balsam Oil, Fennel Extract, Hops Extract, Balm-mint Extract, Mistletoe Extract, Camomile Extract, Yarrow Extract, Allantoin (Comfrey Root Extract), Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E), Rosemary Oil, Sage Oil, Carrot Oil.

Ms. Kenesha. I'm not sure, I did'nt inspect them closely it was wet. I did have a harder thank normal time detangling maybe it was the pulling. ???

IIRC, the amino acid complex in the Rosa Mosqueta is protein based... I could be wrong, but I think the amino acid complex is silica, milk protein, cysteine (sp?) and some other stuff.
The Redken Conditioner made my hair feel as hard as a rock when I rinsed it out. It was stuck together like I'd deep conditioned with super glue! I didn't even try to comb it--I just smeared on goo-gobs of Mizani Moisturfuse and olive oil and left it on overnight. I went to church with wet hair the next day, but it was still on my head and not tangled up in my comb.

Mindy,

Wow, that is scary. Sorry this has happened to you.

Sounds like some type of allergic reaction. Call the company and explain to them what happened. I don't know if that would help, but I don't think I would put it back in my hair again. Go for a good protein conditioner to stop the clumps.

First I know you are frustrated but DONT give up! This is a process and growing healthy hair takes a long time!
First you said you had your hair up in an updo. Was the updo tight-that could lead to shedding or did you use a lot of hard setting lotion? If you didn't comb your hair for 4 days then maybe you experienced some natural shedding. Also how close are you to a relaxer and did you GENTLY detangle your hair????
I feel your pain but it will be OKAY! Remember your hair is CONSTANTLY growing and know that it will all grow back and more /images/graemlins/wink.gif
Here are some product recommendations.
Try Aussie Slip for a detangler and very moisturizing shampoos BreakThru or Creme of Nature. Also are you using a VERY wide tooth comb?

Thanks, Nay.

It was kinda tight in the front I did'nt use gels or anything it had those coated elastic bands in the front (about 6)

I'm gonna try the Creme of Nature, I used to use it but stopped when I found the natural shampoo.

I do use a wide comb wooden I just really noticed a difference in texture, which like I said was really weird cause I did the same thing last time. I suppose the difference is NOT leaving the moiturizer on long enough or not rinsing out the protein well..

But you all have inspired me to keep at it...

I'm sorry to hear about this, Mindymouse. Please keep us posted and let us know what happens. Don't be discouraged and don't give up. We all have these setbacks, as alarming and discouraging as they may be. You have everyone's support here, and I know you'll be back to good hair health in no time. Treat your hair to an extra dosage of moisture, moisture, moisture. Maybe this will help.

SassyGirl, Redken's Heavy Cream conditioner made my hair very hard also. I was able to comb it out but I lost more that usual in the process. Never again! /images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Sorry to hear that Mindymouse! /images/graemlins/frown.gif

If that was your regular routine, I'm perplexed as to what could have gone wrong. Just don't give up. I'll do a little research and see how I can help you out. It's going to be o.k. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi MindyMouse,

The AO Rose Moqueta does have a protein complex in it based on the ingredients u posted. IF u like the Aubreys line a true and complete moisturizing conditioner is the Island Creme spice.

Lastly, bear in mind that your hair was in an updo for 4 days. Typically we lose 30-100 strands of hair a day. You had 4 days worth of hair all in one sitting. So it might of given you the impression that you lost more hair than u normally do.

(((Pebbles))) Thank you. the more I think about it, the more, I think, I might not have rinsed it good, let me know what you find...

I sprayed it with lots of dew, before combing.

Free2bme, I am ordering the Island Spice, cause I heard good things here about it.

I did'nt realize their was protien in the RM?? Which ingredients are they?? I'm clueless when it comes to ingredients.

Wait! That might be what Sassy was talking about - that amino complex thing.

Protein conditioners lately have caused my damaged ends to tangle really badly to where I have to cut the knots out. I don't know if this is what's happening to you or not. I kept thinkig will maybe this other protein conditioner will be different. Then I though well maybe I shouldn't use them as often.... always the same results. So I've started to just use moisturizing conditioners for the most part. They leave my hair soft and detangled and that's all I really need.

I also use a product called L'Oreal Ineral Hair Fixer. You can get it from Sally Beauty Supply. It's a leave-in product.

Here it is:

Thanks Caress.. I'll look for it at my Sally's visit Friday.. Your natural, though, will it work for relaxed hair? Too

As a suggestion i think that after u wash, to soften it use something more natural e.g african pride... /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I've used it on my relaxed and natural hair without problems. Only thing is you have to detangle the hair before you put it in and you are not supposed to use a regular conditoner or creme rinse when you use this.

I agree with Nay Nay. It was probably natural shedding. I used to get a lot of shedding too until I started doing this: Before doing a wash though, I do part my hair in sections and comb with a wide tooth comb and use a bristle brush, this really cuts down on the tangles and shedding. The wide tooth comb gets out all of the tangles and the bristle brush gets out all of the dead hair. HTH

Sorry that this happened to you. Don't give up. I went through these phases too, I think we all have at some point, but consistency and not giving up will help you retain hair and keep it healthy.

MM sorry I can't give you much advice as the ladies have done a great job so far, the best thing to do is be patient and try to stay calm with all of this. I've had my fair share of hair disasters where I thought hacking it off was the best possible answer. But don't do anything that drastic, hang in there, and everytime you meet a hurdle log on and there will be someone there to help you.

Good Luck.

MindyMouse,

The same exact thing happened to me tonight when I washed my hair. It was strange though, because it was in just one spot, right in the front where my hair is the shortest (it figures, right???) - two tangled clumps of hair hanging off my ends. It was impossible to untangle them. I eased them out by spraying it with leave in conditioner, but of course, the clumps still came off.

This happened to me the last time I washed my hair, too, and in the same spot!! The rest of my hair untangled just fine. I had just used Nexxus Emergencee the first time it happened. I had used Elucence Moisturizing Conditioner with heat afterwards. I'm sure it must be the protein making my hair hard in that spot. I'm going to lay off the protein for a while and just moisturize.

My advice, remain strong and focused on your goal. I feel your pain MM, you just feel like giving up when you have set-backs like this /images/graemlins/mad.gif I was going through the same emotions when I removed my braids the other day /images/graemlins/frown.gif But I'm better now, had a nice trim to get those damaged ends cleaned up. That was the first time after a trim I felt better about my hair. Did those clumps leave your ends raggady?

Mindymouse,

I am piggybacking Carmen Rose and NayNay. I do think that was shed hair, but I also want to say that I do not think much of the AO Rose Mosqueta condition for detangling. I honestly don't think your hair reacted to that protein complex in it. It is simply a really poor detangler.

Definitely check out the AO Island Spice Cream Rinse and the Jojoba and Aloe Rejuvenator conditioner. In my opinion, these are much better choices.

Also, please call or email the company and tell them what happened. They need to hear about problems as well as compliments.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now...

Hugs,

Jade

Jade I am ordering the Island Spice.

Thanks

And Pebbles, I just logged on, I am on my way to check my PM
