Soap cap for color removal Please help :)

I would like to remove dark brown hair color and go back to my natural light brown color ( I am natural). The salon advises a soap cap which is a mixture of shampoo and bleach I think? Any one have this done and without a setback?

I have used color opps before but it does not work properly and I end up with the same dark hair color after I re-dye it.

We did this when I was in school and someone just needed to go a tiny bit lighter (like not even 1 level), they wanted to get lighter or different hues in there. Particularly if they've colored their hair darker more recently. It could or could not significantly lighten your hair as there are many other factors that need to be considered...porosity, overall condition, what kind of product was used to darken your hair and how long ago that happened. Either way I would err on the side of caution and think "bleach is bleach" no matter how it is applied. Have your self-lightened before?
