less Tresses because he says it is very diffucult to get out of the hair. Anyone's stylist ever told them that. I stopped using it, what did you do?:ohwell:

I'm not understanding difficulty getting it out of your hair...

I've never had any problems just washing my hair as usual...maybe the smell of MTG was bothering him but it should have washed out without any problems and there is no stink with the BT so that shouldn't be an issue with it. Maybe I'm not understanding his issue.

Well he basically knew somehow that I was using a sulfur-based product. Don't know how. I guess he could smell it. So he put this really expensive, I mean expensive as in more than $100 conditioner in my hair and he said the sulfur was weighing it down after he put some volumizer in it. And he pulls alot too. I think this is my last time going to him.:ohwell:

This Saturday.

I've never heard that before. Do you or your stylist use a clarifying shampoo?

I think he just uses Paul Mitchell's moisturizing line and not a clarifying shampoo.

Are you clarifying your hair at home?

No, he told me to just use the products he gave me and come to him. I go every two weeks and this will be my third time but after this I am putting braids in my hair for two months.

He doesn't want me to use all those products and they don't understand that in dec 05 I cut my hair to my neck but when I went to him my hair was past apl but a few inches from BSL. the inbetween length. He had to cut it because when I cut it in 05' I did it unevenly and just went according to what I saw was damaged. And I had some damaged ends because I start slacking off in the last month of not wearing my braids as far as moisturizing using Robin's method.

So he doesn't really no that I came a long way and thinks that my method doesn't work but it does. It is just that I stopped.

I'm going back to my braids though and when I take them out i guess he can do it one or two times and then I'm going back to my braids.

Before you go back to him, make sure you clarify a week before you go and don't use MTG or BT a week before you go. Maybe that'll help...;)

ITA. Because if you have had success with MTG and BT, then you shouldn't stop just because he can smell it on you. Good Luck!

Good for you. He sounds kinda weird. What's the pulling about?

Am I really the only one that sees that he wants you to put your $$$$$ in his pockets and depend on him for everything. BT washes out like anything else. It's funny he didn't go ahead and clarify your hair if he was so concerned about what you were putting in your hair sinces he seems so self righteous and arrogant to claim your growth instead of congratulating you on your hard work.:perplexed hmmmmmmmm leaves me pondering.....................hmmmmmmm:ohwell:

Re: So, my hairdresser doesn't like me using the sulfur based producst like MTG and B

well how often do you wash your hair? you can't just apply products daily and not expect buildup after two whole weeks. try washing more often and try a clarifying shampoo to remove everything. that should help:ohwell:

You beat me to it!

He just wants your dollars and for you to be totally dependent on him.

I am going to echo what others have said. Sounds like he's made you a littl dependent on him and you shouldn't have to be. Clarifying should do the job, and if he won't do it do it yourself and save some money. ;)

Re: So, my hairdresser doesn't like me using the sulfur based producst like MTG and B

I don't think he's all bad.

I'm impressed that he gave you products to use at home.
I'm impressed that your ends needed to be cut and he wasn't harrassing you about cutting them. That never happens most are dying to cut your hair to get that $$.
I'm impressed he could tell you used sulphur. He's right. They do build-up.

Some people you just gotta work with. He's off to a good start IMHO. I would just clarify at home and keep doin' whatever else is working, but keep the stylist.

Well, he told me that my hair needed to be cut so I let him cut it. It's really cute. I decided that I am going to get a relaxer and just have him do roller sets because since he is a man he really doesn't know how to be gentle when combing through hair. So, I think it would be easier on my hair and him to get a relaxer since I know alot of women on here have grown tremendously with relaxers and roller setting.

This Saturday.

This is hairdresser double talk. Hairdressers who have more procedures and follow-up directions than open heart surgeons. Good for you for rethinking going back to him.

You can work with him on the roughness too. It's gonna take courage, but show him how you comb your hair. Take your comb with you. He doesn't have to be that rough even if he is a man. :wink2:

My braiders are rough on my hair too. I've shown her a few times and sometimes she remembers and sometimes she doesn't, but I'm there for 8 hours so I let a few of them slide. :ohwell:

He cut about an inch and 1/2 to two inch. The trick: what us LHCF users have to watch out for is the stylists like him when they go around two times.

He went through once with about 3/4 inch cut and then again with another 3/4 inch. So on the floor it looks like a little bit but I had to remember that he went around two times.

I totally agree. By the fact that he could tell you used sulphur and you hadn't said a word to him. Hmmmmm, off to clarify.

PLEASE tell me you are not talking about a male stylist in Miami, FL that works in Kendall off of 117th!?!

OMG!! My stylist does that too! I always thought she was just trying to get it clean and perfect!! But that's the "trick" to make it seem like they're cutting less hair?!?!? See now, this just gives me yet ANOTHER reason to start doing my own hair!!!!
