So discouraged

Ladies... I think that I have come to the conclusion that transitioning \/natural just may not be for me....:look: Don't get me wrong I love my coils (when they decide to make an appearance) but trying to moisturize my natural and relaxed ends is just not working... mo matter what I do may hair is either weighed down with product or dry like straw... I oil, I DC, I tie my hair up at night.... just nothing works in the past month I know that I have spent over $300 in products and nothing is helping me retain moisture... the only time it does is when it's relaxed... I'm so discouraged and just ugh I don't know... my main concern now is whether I'm going to do the relaxer myself (kind of scared about that) or go to a salon (REALLY SCARED)

I"m sitting hear after DC for 20minutes with hair that feels like straw... and I"m just threw....

I'm prob so emotional b/c of PMS but today I just can't be positive about this situation... I look a hot mess and if I"m honest with myself have since I took the braids out and decided to transition... ugh sorry again girls for the rant

What products are you using? The 2 textures may require different products so maybe it's time to BC.

ETA..I just read your siggy and since you will be in braids from Jan-Aug-Why not wait until Aug to make your decision.I don't see a reason to relax your hair if you will be getting braids really soon. That way you will have more time to research what might work for your hair.

I had the same experience until I found my jherri curl juice, hair grease, and glycerin/water mix.Sometimes simple is better.

i know how you feel. just this morning i was so sick of dealing with this hair. i did a co-wash dc for 30 mins and i woke up to dried, fried, fizzy, dizzy hair. this has happened more than one occassion. my only remedy for me is to dc for an hour. anything less and my hair :lachen:.

(((hugs)))

Sorry to hear you're feeling this way. I remember using Profectiv products when I was relaxed and they continued to work well during my transition. They even work now that I'm natural. I know not everything works for everyone though. Also, maybe you should try sealing in the moisture you put on your hair with an oil like jojoba or coconut oil.

have you tried any of the natural relaxer treatments? like the caramel treatment or the coconut cream concentrate and yogurt treatments? i am exploring this stuff myself but some here seem to be having alot of success with these. good luck with whatever you decide to do, but i do agree that if you are going to be in braids anyway, mind as well wait till you are ready to take them out to make a decision.

I'd wait until you're out of braids to decide on going back to relaxers.

I agree with what the ladies above have suggested. You can try the caramel treatment or the lime and coconut. Also, when was the last time you clarified?
