I know that sounds strange. I wanted to grow my hair for me and it is NOT that long..barely past shoulder length. I've been VERY discouraged as I am not giving it the care to grow and it's stuck at the same length

BUT since I've been actively going out...
the guys rave about it ...I didn't think they cared
One cute cute guy IM'd me and said LOVE YOUR HAIR...and said IF that is YOUR hair... I've got an engagement ring

Another man I've been talkin to ..a rocker..(so excited about him)
we've been talking for a while and he never mentioned my hair...
It came out in one conversation.. he asked to touch my hair
...you like my hair?
I LOVE your hair
ETA..he did n't stop there! he made these ..um....noises.... about the HAIR
and I just got this email just this week

...love your look..think your hair is great

Totally unintentional..hmmmmm

I date a guy who had a major complex with this and was a tad pissed when I decided to cut my hair. Mind you my hair wasn't what I considered what I thought was long but he did. I don't wear my hair down much anymore but when I do folks do take notice.

OK!! When I see ladies like Cichelle, DSylla, Chicoro, FlowerHair, etc. That is some hypnotic hair right there, enough to put folks in a trance over!

When I was little my Mom cut her hair short once and my Dad was so upset about it. I couldn't understand why at the time but once I grew up and got it, I REALLY got it. Hair has a life of its own, it truly does.

I think I get attention from men with my hair out and press than natural and shrunken. But I think I get more attention when I wear jeans or fitted clothing. Although I am not fond of being small with a big ole ghetto butt.

Last night I bit the bullet, detangled and wore my natural hair down & curly- men have been checking me out all day. One a completely stranger invited me on to the elevator he was riding and then gushed about how he didn't want to get off Of course I think having my hair on point made me actually decide to put on some lip gloss and bronzer, too- so that helped.

And one guy I go out with sometimes, he said his 6 yr old daughter raved about my hair and said she wanted hair like mine when she grew up (and my big boobies, too)

Lol...I know alot of men are attracted to women with real, long hair because they think it's so sexy. Some of those men get so upset when their woman/wife decides to chop it. I see a lot of those threads on that. So, I guess in some cases, it is a big attractor.

Me personally, I don't think that's the case with me because my hair is always weaved up. The guys I date usually don't have any idea of the length of my real hair.

I agree. I get attention from men and women. It's nice. I love it when people ask me about my hair-- and people will stop and ask you about your hair in the weirdest places (one of the nurses when I was in the urgent care center getting x-rays). LOL

when I finally started embracing my own hair loving and taking care of it...the reactions I got from people when it was super short to froed out huge after it grew were really "unexpected".....since I was still transitioning in my own comfortability with it....men in my life were always tellin me they preferred my real hair and didn't understand why i was always weaving it up, I just wasn't listening to them, just in constant denial about not liking it when I was called on it.....when I realized i wasn't completely loving myself unconditionally by refusing to acknowledge and take care of my hair, my whole attitude changed about it and people go crazy over it when its out....

Hair has some alluring power to men. I don't know what it is but it doesn't matter the race, black, white, asian or hispanic. men love it.

Women act like they are jealous or hate you, especially if it is long and bouncy and when I wear my real hair it is always like that. Except when it is in a pony before wash day after taking my cornrows out and even then, black ladies will break their neck to see who has all the hair.

But um, yeah, "I love my hair." Can't wait till it gets to WL and maybe beyond. I'm at BSL now.
