Yea, I know there's been other threads about it but I don't care. I won a jar of the Vanilla Silk Cream Moisture Dream conditioner from a giveaway on YouTube. So I gave it a try for the first time on Saturday and wow, wow, wow, I am HEAVEN. Now I see what all the rave was about. In all my years of trying prodcuts, I have NEVER tried a more amazing and moisturizing conditioner as this one. (To me, Aubrey Organics White Camelia was hard to beat until this baby) My hair literally feels different and truly moisturized. I am stunned. This conditioner deserves it's own thread for 2014, so I've giving it. Thank you so much Silk Dreams for an amazing and well made product!:yep:

Wow, when you say your hair is different, how so? And what are the top 5 ingredients?

Ingredients: Water,Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol,Stearalkonium Chloride,Vanilla Butter(coconut oil,palm oil,vanilla planifolia), Honey, Simmondsia chinensis(Jojoba) Oil,Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Prunus armeniaca(Apricot Kernel) Oil,Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey,Dimethyl Stearamine,Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein,Panthenol, Lactic Acid, Germall Plus,Fragrance

thx for responding to the questions above. My hair felt so mousturized that it was as if I didnt need any leave in or additional product thereafter. That's big for me because I struggle with dry hair.

Vanilla Silk is my holy grail (HG) DC. Everything else works well, but not as well as this. You can literally feel the moisture as you rinse your hair. Your hair literally feels like silk. I like to use it with a heat cap or dryer, but it works well without heat as well.

Silk Dreams Vanilla DC is my HG too. Love it! This thing performs so well in my hair it's crazy. I've used some good DCs, KBB, HV Sitrinillah, SSI banana brûlée and fortifying hair maquette to name a few. Buuuut nothing performs like my SD

I tried it last night for the first time and my hair felt ANAZING during and after I rinsed! I used the Wheat germ butter conditioner as my leave-in (jury is still out but I'm sure I used way to much), but when I applied the Mocha Silk Hair Milk as a moisturizer and sealed it with jojoba oil...OMG! My hair this morning feel so soft and moisturized...i believe it was the MSHM that really did it. My cuticles are closed and no rough ends!! This is a staple so far but like I said, I still have to try the WGB again for a true assessment but overall my air dried hair feels amazing after using only SD products during this wash.

I was going to ignore this thread but this post has me on pause. I just got and fell in love with the Sitrinillah and now I hear SD is better! lol

I'm probably in the minority here but Vanilla Silk was just ok to me. For my hair, it definitely isn't better than Sitrinillah. But you will never know how it responds to your hair until you try it.

Now On the other hand, I adore Shea What Deux much more than Vanilla Silk. JMO though

I actually like the SD VS. Only thing for me is I can't really use it in the winter for some reason. It works well the other seasons just not in winter. It's definitely a staple for me, but I'm more of a Shea What lover than vanilla silk.

This & This!:yep:

Thanks Beamodel Saludable84 You both summed up my sentiments very nicely.

I too struggle with dry hair and SDVS, with heat, works very well for me. I've recently come to terms with that fact that my hair just doesn't like creamy conditioner left in. It seems that aloe vera juice, aloe vera gel, or distilled water with oil or butters, work better for me. I just tried my first butter, B.A.S.K sevenfold citrus one, and I am in love.

Does it give good slip and detangle?

FriscoGirl depending on the texture of your hair. It is more of a pudding like consistency. It does have some slip, but not a ton. I wouldn't detangle my 4b hair with it because I prefer something insanely slippy. I detangle before I shampoo, so I just slather it on in sections.

For my 4b hair, VS and Sitrinillah are comparable. They both leave hair with the same silky feeling upon rinsing. However, I prefer the scent of VS, so it rates higher for me.

i must be alone in not loving this one. After a while the smell became too much for me and it didn't do that much for my hair. My hair felt soft, but other DC left me with more for longer than this and the smell didn't give me a headache.
My sister uses it as a leave in because it is not think enough for her High Po hair...yet it wasn't penetrative enough for my low po hair...even with heat.

I ended up giving it away.

Silk Dreams is my Jammy. I more SD's then any other line in my stash. That speaks volumes because I'm a huge PJ lol.
I have never tried vanilla silk but yes this line is amazing. I am also a PJ, and this is THE ONLY complete line in my stash. And they are ALL staples.
Pre
Go moist shampoo
Shea what
RCA
WGB
Almond buttercream
Mocha hair milk
Mocha bling butter
Complete wash day silk dream style.

I suffer from dry hair as well. I may have to try this once my stash runs low. I hope the scent isn't too strong.

I'm about to order this. Froreal3 which moisturizer did you say you liked ? And is it greasy because I can't do greasy hair at all

sparkle25 the Wheat Germ is the only moisturizer I've tried from SD. The Vanilla Silk is my favorite DC from her. I've tried Shea What! Deux and it was great, but too thick of a consistency for my hair. I have fine strands.

Chula SDs scents are not strong at all.

Ditto! Y'all already know that I'm a SD head and that it's my primary line. I have too much stuff to list. My hair loves SD products! The bonus is non obnoxious smells. I have a sensitive nose.
