So I went to my first bss today and happened to pass this product. I remeber seeing it mentioned on the forums. I googled these forum and it seems like most threads on it were through 2010-2012. Does anyone still use it? Is it still good? Was there a change and its not as good?

I don't use the original, I use the Bambu Mix. My hair loves it. My hair is moisturized and soft. And it works great as a dentangler.

Still using the original SM, it's a staple. (I'm relaxed)

How do u know if you have the original or not? I just recently purchased this too

I've moved on to Brazilian products

What kind of Brazilian products? Are they easy to find?

This is the orignial.

I started using it year. It's amazing. Melts away tangles. I'm convinced I would've retained so much more length during this hair journey if I'd been using Silicone mix from the beginning.

Things like novex, cadiveu, inoar, QOD, fox cosmeticos, softliss etc a lot of them are professional brands and you can get them online.

Depending on where you live novex, kanechom, lilas or nunaat may be sold in stores near by but novex has the best quality by far IMO.

I only use it when I straighten my hair because it gets my hair super straight & soft & it stays that way even with this Florida weather.

I can't believe it took me so long to try it! I totally agree with you!

Yep, I still use the original...HOLY GRAIL! I love the Perla version as well, because it's a nice balance of protein & moisture, but the original is my #1

Silicon Mix DC + lacio lacio leave-in = maximum retention for me :)

I had an XL container in my stash that I had for years? I stopped using it after the Domenican hair care craze died down. I became natural last year and after reading this thread, decided I'd try it again. Well, all I can say is. Two thumbs up!
My hair was very hydrated and strong. I have very fine, low density hair and my hair felt and looked heavy and thick. I'm in  I also forgot how awesome this makes my hair smell.

Napp which novex do you use?

I used to love that stuff. I haven't used it in years, but they are carrying it in beauty supply stores now in Houston, so I may give it a go again.

I am still using it off and on, when I am not able to get Silk Dreams. I love it! I use the Bambu treatment and leave-in conditioner. Great products! I also like the smell of the Bambu one.

YES!!!! I used this during my last wash and O-M-G it is still so good to me! I *know* that if I had used another conditioner my hair would not have been easy to comb through. I couldn't believe how well it detangled my hair. I love it. First used SM like 10 years ago. It was one of my staples when I was a relaxed BSL. I need to stick with it to get to a natural BSL.

Holla You are going to make me go and pick up a jar of this today. It used to work great in my hair when it was relaxed. I only stopped using it because I got tired of dealing with shipping.

I'm in Houston as well if need be I can tell you the store I got it from.

I love it...the slip is amazing and i love the scent.

simplydebra ... It's worth it. Since going natural, I have used so many mediocre products with the thought of going cone free. I cowash often and didn't want to have to clarify often as well. It is worth it if it saves me a few extra strands every week by making detangling easier. :yep:

Any idea where to buy this in the DMV? I lived in a Dominican area in Manhattan for 3 years, and saw it in stores all the time, but I never picked up a bottle. Sigh.

Please tell me. This was my holiest of holy grails, but I wanted something I could pick up at the store. I hated the shipping.

I found this and the bambu one at my bss. Will try it before the end of the year.

I do. Especially when my hair needs an ultimate moisture boost. But if I use it back to back, my hair gets limp. I find that my porous hair likes the temporary seal of a silicone. If I'm doing a set that will be exposed to this humid FL weather, I'll always use Silicone Mix as my DC.
