I just thought i'd show you all some love!!:iloveyou::grouphug3::grouphug2:

For those of you that have goals for longer lengths i jus wanna say DON'T GIVE UP!!!

I'm seeing a LOT of you ladies on here and i have to say ya'll got some BANGIN hair!! All the shine, the ends are fresh and the "swang photos"...i LOVE em!!! You ladies also keep me inspired bc i was once there as well....only 2 years ago...and to see ya'll continuing on your journeys it keeps me on my toes:yep:

So i jus wanted to throw out some encouragement to you all!!

HHG and have a HHD (Happy Hair Day!!:) )

Thanks SE !

It is quite uplifting and inspiring to know that many, many of you are where "We" are and Struggled with some of the same things we are Struggling with now to meet our Health & Length Goals.

It can get to be a little discouraging sometimes......

Your Thread was Right On Time.

:nicethread:

Thank you so much for this post! Sometimes it feels like the Under APL ladies don't get as much credit for our determination in attaining longer healthier hair. Many of us have went through a lot of ups and down and mini chops, but long hair is still on our radar. Thank you again!

You ALL deserve credit bc i remember when i started my journey and i was right above APL....Full SL....and i found LHCF and lurked and i said i wanted to be MBL.....

I went through a LOT of trial and error and i learned to listen to my hair. I did alot of researching and buying products...everything...so i KNOW what its like. APL to a lot may not seem like a long length...but when i see women IRL with SL, APL and i'm grazin WL...i feel like their hair is longer than mine...you will go through periods of "hairnorexia" lol...but just remember if u continue on with your journey and try to reach your goals...regardless if you set a timeframe and make it or not...just know you WILL get there eventually.

The best thing i discovered..bc i like to set time framed goals...i set mini realistic goals...while keeping my longterm goals in mind...let the mini goals lead into your longterm goals. That way its like a win win situation...u might not make ur longterm goal when you wanted to..but u made your mini goals and that makes it all better.

Even though I Fall into the waayyy "Or Shorter" Category...I am still having fun with it.

And for me, that makes the Journey that much more enjoyable.

I cannot stess out about what I don't have (although I use to), all I can do, is treat my hair the best I humanly can, pray, and go from there.

To 'fret' or stress out about it would IMO be totally Counter-Productive.:yep:

So...I'm focusing on Health & Length, trying to keep a positive attitude about this Journey.

For awhile I was discouraged because I've never had my hair below APL (intentionally). It was either BSB or BSL. I've been so determined to grow back my hair I forgot about the health aspect. I've had to do 3 mini chops (cutting off damaged hair from the beginning of my journey; evening out the damaged hair; trims...) so far and each time it puts my hair back at neck length almost sl. It's really distressing...I hate short hair with all of my heart. I do not feel confident in it at all. So reading your post uplifted me. I have put a lot of work into my hair so far and the only people getting credit are people hitting the longer length goals. I'm not even setting goals anymore. Whenever I get there I'll get there :yep:

Thank you for the shout out! I'm seeing all these MBL or longer ladies, and it just seems so out of reach right now...this was right on time!

Great Thread I remember when i was here keep up the great work ladies!!!!

for some reason i cant really remember it anymore, i mean i can but i cant:perplexed

the time goes sooo fast ladies, before you know it youll be WL and you wont rememeber being SL or APL anymore :perplexed

Wonderful, wonderful thread! Such a nice young lady :yep: The encouragement is definitely appreciated!

Thanks for this encouragement. It seems to be right on time. The struggle gets so hard sometimes. Even now that I've reached my first goal of APL, I still ask myself on the rough days: "why on earth am I doing all this?" But the answer always stares me back in the face: TO HAVE HEALTHY LONG HAIR!!

I want to be BSL so bad...:ohwell:

Its been my goal since young girl. I was so ignorant in my hair care....damaging it daily,:wallbash: all the while thinking I was doing right by it. Now I know better. And now I'm gonna prove to myself, and all the nay-sayers, that black women who are not mixed-race can still grow absolutely beautiful long hair!!

We have the support of one another, and a database full of knowledge to help. Love this thread!!!:yep:
