Should I cut hair a little so the weak area can catch up?

Okay, I posted some months ago about going bald. My hair is making a turn around. Still, an area is still struggling and it is getting on my nerves. I am thinking about cutting hair down some to allow it to catch up. My hair is already short so it is not as if I will cut off a bunch of hair…

I cant stand uneven strands!!!!!!
Whatta ya think? Should I…

Please give me feedback

I think you should let it grow and catch up. I don't think you should cut it. Even if it is only an inch, that inch will make a difference to your growth in a years time.

I know it is frustrating but just baby that hair a little more until it gets to where you want it to go.

What's different about that area? What are you doing to help your hair turn around that doesn't seem to be working for that area? How short is it? Natural, relaxed etc... We need some details miss! I haven't seen your other thread as you can tell:look:.

If it's annoying you so much, I say go for it! However from my experience, sometimes it takes a long time for certain areas on your head to get to the same length. My nape area grows faster than my sides, so if I were to keep cutting my nape area to look even with my sides, my hair wouldn't be almost APL now...I'd be stuck at chin length for years!
This is the same reason why hair stylist are so adamant about cutting your hair. Most of them aren't looking to grow your hair out, they are looking to style it!

So be wary about cutting your hair so it will grow evenly out. Most hair grows in unevenly naturally.

Thanks, it is on the left side of my head and it is not as full, and is shorter than the rest it just a small part, but it is getting on my damn nerves.

I am relaxed. and my hair is about ear length with the back cut off. I attached a pic, and my head is turned and you can see where the area is. It's on the side of my head. I just want to even it all up. It's really obvious. Between the back of my hair and the bang area. It's like someone just cut that area short.

I am the one in peach scarf.

^^ the truth right here. why let the good hair suffer because of the weak hair :spinning: be patient and just nourish and baby the weaker section. it'll catch up. :yep:

Can you maybe PS to give the weaker area time to grow? Are you against wigs? Just trying to think of something that would allow your hair to rest while it gets healthier in that area.

Thanks ladies, I am going to do some of what everyone said. I will do a light trim to make it look neater and add extra attention to the area.

Make sure to do recontructors & deep condition more often on that area, apply moisture daily and u could try braiding that area and sewing in some hair to leave that area alone.

I don't see a picture attached:look:
Could it be that you are wrapping your hair in the same direction every night? Particularly with the left side going to the right side (at the back)? This may be a cause of it. Could it be the left side is a different texture and needs different/more care than the right side?

I say trim. I have the same problem. Broken areas and overall very uneven. I can't wait to cut it. I plan to do a BC though which is more extreme. You don't have to do that but a trim wouldn't hurt. I had some broken spots that never retained until I evened it out with everything else. Just my experience.

Are you going bald in that area as in the hair is falling out at the roots? Or are the strands in that area broken? There's a big difference. If the hair is falling out at the roots, trimming will do nothing for you.
