Short Hair 1-5 inches

good morning everyone, Is there anyone that started with very short hair. Right now my hair is at about the middle of my ears (i don't know how to measure it yet) so i'm guessing maybe 5 inches in some places 1 in others and 2 3 4 mixed in there somewhere. I have not had a relaxer since sometime in august when I first started getting the twist extensions and have taken out my last set for sometime hopefully. My question is how the heck do I do my hair now with no heat or doing a BC (not brave enough right now), I want to take a break from braids and heat and maybe not get a relaxer until this time next year. any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

My hair is about 6-7 inches I think, but after flat ironing this weekend it is neck length grazing shoulder length.

I could not stretch w/o heat, but I could not do that even if my hair was longer.

I have to flat-iron, but I use a protective serum every time.

Also to give myself more length to put my hair up in protective styles, I wear clip-on extensions that blend in well with my hair. They also protect my hair very well.

I try to take them off at night, but sometimes I do sleep with them.

 CiaJcanBabi,

I have short hair(don't know the length but, just guessing here, 1" in the top and tapered much shorter in the back due to breakage). I have decided to transition to natural starting this month. I plan on purchasing a maxiglide next year though.

ETA: have you tried the spikey look(I am currently wearing it as is LilChocolateMa) and we both  it.

Your could try a phony pony. Most BSS sell a variety of styles etc.. and you could give your hair a rest wearing them.

When I started with LHCF about 1 1/2 yrs ago I had no inches in the back and maybe 4 in the front. I did alot of twist outs. When my hair was long enough I alternated with an afro ponytail. Every once in a while I would wear it straight.

Let me find out you're into Ballywood. :look: Anywho, you can check out my album from when I first cut it, I did mostly braidouts but would get a blowout or go to my black stylist 1-2 times a month. If you do small and tight twist-rows, they come out looking like strawsets a little (but that only worked on my very short hair.)

CiaJcanBabi ,

Have you ever thought about wearing wigs??? My hair is currently 4 inches long and because of my thin edges, I figured that would be a better option at helping me to grow out my hair without the use of braids (many bad experiences) or use of heat. Also you can change you look with wigs as often as you please. HHG

i did think about wigs, but then i eventually have to figure out how to handle my own hair, i've spent the last almost 3 years wearing either micros or box braids or twist outs and my hair has grown a grand total of 4 inches, so now i'm going to love my hair and I broke down last week and got a vitale lye relaxer :( i couldn't deal with the breakage, so now i'm cowashing daily and using mane 'n tail as a leave in and hopefully i will learn how to do twist an braidouts, i am so so happy i found this forum, because everyone on here is so helpful and supportive, my friends are like stop talking about your hair already :) , so now i will be assaulting mummy as soon as i get home for xmas so she can twist my hair for me
