Which is better?

I know the powder needs to be mixed, but just wondering if the bar is a better alternative...

I've read either way...oils need to be applied b4 hand and it is important to condition after...(lhcf ladies taught me that )

Can they be used together...like powder mix first then bar or is that a disaster waiting to happen??

Shikakai is a rather drying herb, so "double-duty" would probably not be good. I use both at various times. I have powder in a combo mix and a bar for routine washings.

As HERicane10 said, I don't think you should do a double-shikakai on your hair. It'll probably dry your hair something fierce.

I have used both. The shikakai bar (purchased at a local Indian store for $1.50) can lasts me months. I use it for my hair and face, very moisturizing and makes my hair soft.

I've also used the shikakai powder, which is easy to apply... just don't blink and get that grainy **** in your eye! Oh good Lord it hurts so bad! LOLOLOL Other than that its fine, but I find that its a little messy. I just find the bar of soap so much easier to use.

Yea it seems like the soap would be easier to use...and is just one product instead of having to purchase like 3 diff powders to put in ur mix with ur shikakai powder...

Goin to the indian store today soo just curious...

last time I went I was just browsing lol

I have the bar. It has a funky oder that my sister and niece says smells like horse dung but my hair was so soft and clean after using it. Have not used the powder yet.

I love the bar and the powder did nothing. I don't like that Swastica (sp) its to red and my hair is light. I like how it word though. I might try one that isn't red.

Thanks for all ur help ladies...I washed with the bar tonight and it was great!!! thanks again ladies...THIS IS A KEEPER!!:grin:

Which bar did you buy, the regular shikakai, or the shikakai with hibiscus and marigold? I LOVE the one w/hibiscus and marigold! Super soft, fluffy, clean, light hair. The scent isn't as bad either.
