Shedding while using curling iron

Well I only straighten my hair maybe twice a month but when I do straighten I section my hair and then use the curlers to straighten... well each time I do this I have hair all in the sink and on the floor. I am pretty sure this shedding is normal, due to the fact we loose like 100 strands per day but do any of u ladies experience this too?
I also should add that I wear my hair up most of the time so maybe this is shedding from days ago?????

Oh no don't tell me I am the only one with this problem... o.k where's my 9....

No you arent the only one after my weekly wash and flat ironI notice all kinds of hair everywhere. short pieces, long peices, peices with roots. I am not worried about loosing thickness though just about having those suprising short patches in my hair. Looks like a little hair rug on my bathroom floor

Hmmm. I used to get a lot of that too, but not any more!! Since I started using Nexxus Keraphixx reconstructor (at least twice a month) I have had SO much less breakage. I used to have a lot of hair all over the sink and floor in the bathroom whenever I combed my hair, and I hated that!! Now I know that's why my hair never seemed to grow- it was breaking too much!!

i also find shedding when i use heat on my hair. i have the problem of hot curling my hair after it's washed and airdried. i found that waiting a few days after my wash has reduced shedding when i use heat.

Your not alone, I experience this also, unfortunately, lately I've noticed more when I rollerset. Last night I airdried, and this morning when I styled my hair into a ponytail, I didn't notice any shedding.

Maybe it's the side effect of using heat. I use protein treatments but this still happens. It doesn't happen when I air dry.

Kia,

You may be right about that. Now that I think about it, it's really been since I stopped using my curling iron that my breakage has stopped.

w/me...doing preshampoo hot oil treatments really decreased the shedding AND helped me depend on heat a lot less. My hair holds better when it has lots of moisture!
