I'm going to do a self install next week. I'm trying to figure out how I can have hair left out for a side part AND use a net for weaving.

Any advice/suggestions?

Maybe cut a U shape into the net for the hair you plan to leave out and sew the remaining part of the net down onto the braids. HTH!

Thanks for responding!

I'll be using one of those net caps you buy at the bss. It wont just unravel? Or should I sew it down first and then cut it?

If it's black, maybe you can mark off where to cut it when it's sewn down OR maybe you can do the old school way and spray hair spray on the net before cutting. Stiff *** hair spray keeps anything from unraveling lol

^^^^ I agree. Section off where you want left out and then put that in a braid/ clip/ pony... Etc. I prefer to braid it so I can make sure all the hair is out of the way. Braid your hair in your desired braiding pattern, then attach the net. If the net is square then you will have to either double it over to accommodate the countours of your head, which can be rather bulky IMO or cut what I can only explain as a triangle out of the sides when you see you are unable to sew it flush alon the contours of the hairline. Once you sew up to the section you left out, carefully cut it out of net.. I've never have an issue with unraveling. HTH
