Setting the hair with steam?

I know some people wrap their hair or put rollers in their har and then take a shower. They use the steam from the shower to help set their hair. My question is --what kind of cap do you use to do this (if a cap is used at all)?

Do you use a plastic cap or a fabric cap that allows steam to get in?

Thanks in advance.

I use just thin plastic caps you use to do a deep conditioning. A regular shower cap doesn't work as well for me.
