Steam Roller/ Steam Cap Question

I am considering using the flat iron to help transition my hair. Can I use steam rollers or a steam cap to curl my hair during this transition without the unrelaxed hair that's been flat ironed reverting?

Will an antihumectant like Aveda's help the hair to curl without reverting?
