I LOOKED HIGH AND LOW TO SEE IF I CAN FIND ANY LAST BATCHES OF MISS COOL BUT WITH NO LUCK. I WANT TO USE SOMETHING FOR A DRY SET THAT WILL WORK WELL. I HAVE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT MISS COOL BUT SINCE IT IS DISCONTINUED my chances of finding it are slim. I am wondering if there is a product that can do the same thing that it does? I have never tried miss cool so i cant really compare anything but i would really like something. PLEASE HELP!!!

can they be used on dry hair? i think i actually have the cream wrap from lottobody? i will have to see if it says for dry hair. i'll have to look out for that hindu sheen. thanks.

I tried the Lottabody Creme and it was too heavy. I love this stuff...but only on wet hair. I did a dry set with Elucence Moisture Balance conditioner and it turned out great. I also like Miss Cool and I was looking for something to replace it so I tried this.

i posted about the hindu sheen and someone said they had used it and it was cool. search for the thread ( i think it was called "hindu sheen 5 minute set"). they have one now that is not concentrated (you have to add water to the one in the picture). i found that when i was on the hunt for the miss cool.

i'm going to pick it up.

Like Sweetcocoa, Lottabody Creme Wrap works really well for me - on wet hair. I never tried it on dry hair. I suppose it could work but I'd imagine you want to dilute it first. I could see it leaving hair gummy if applied to dry hair.

I'm glad for the picture of the hindu sheen but now i have to search for this. i never saw it before but then again i wasnt looking for it so maybe thats why. is this a small tube or a jar like a cholesterol type deal. gosh i spent all yesterday all around nyc looking for miss cool and hoping some store will have some less over. someone even said they saw it at a love store at 72nd street and columbus and i went there and saw none and the guy who worked there didnt know what i was talking about. it didnt help that i didnt know what it looked like either.

I really want to use something for dry sets since i am all thumbs for wet sets and i have read the countless threads and instructions for it. also i currently dont have a working hooded dryer. anywho i hope to somehow find this hindu sheen because i have already mentally decided 3 months ago i wouldnt purchase elucence even though it was on my wish list for a year. God bless you all.

hey azull. the non-concentrated kind of hindu sheen is in a taller bottle. they had plenty of both kinds at the beauty supply that i went to. if you look this weekend and can't find it, i'll be happy to mail you one from the windy city. i need to get some cuz some mornings some of my rodded curls look weird.

awww thank you so much. I will try to find this because I can finally touch my hair after months of being in braids. I cant wait till I dont have to wear braids anymore. I mean its nice for a while but with all these product reviews and everything I just want to be able to really care for my hair. I will look out for this in the beauty supply store today. God bless you all.

Re Hindu Sheen. It also now comes in a jar. I have used it for years and never diluted any version of it, always use it straight from the bottle/jar. You can wake up, set your hair, shower, dress, and your hair should be fine. In Maryland most beauty supply shops carry it. I have never seen it at Sally's.

AZUL - Re: SETTING LOTION LIKE MISS COOL??????

Azul,

I'm wondering if they've just discontinued Miss Cool in your area. I went to the suppy store in my area (Indiana) and they just received a large supply of Miss Cool in a new larger bottle. If you want to try it, email me and I'll send you a bottle.

Re: AZUL - Re: SETTING LOTION LIKE MISS COOL??????

where in indiana do you live? i live in chicago and i go to indiana regularly for gas.

Re: AZUL - Re: SETTING LOTION LIKE MISS COOL??????

again i believe it is a conspiracy. i went to a site and it said discontinued and i havent found any other sites that have pictures of it. there was a site that had it but i think its free shipping if you buy 50 dollars worth of stuff. i think this is just a sign that my pjism is getting out of control. i'm going nuts over a product i never even tried and dont even know what it looks like.

Miss Cool has been discontinued by soft sheen. I've been looking for this product for 4 years. It's a lost cause.

I do recomend Hindu Sheen. It's my favorite. I use it with a little mouse for my twist outs.

Please tell me where you buy it. I would love to get my hands on some. I called soft sheen about a 2 years ago and they told me that the product was discontinued. I've never been able to find it on line anywhere.

Sheldeez.com sells a product called 5-Minute Quick Set. The packaging looks different, but it's pink like Miss Cool. I ordered two!

Thanks Sassygirl! Aren't you one of the people who really liked the original? Please let us know how it compares. I might have to order some when the challenge is over.

Yes, I used the original Miss Cool 5-Minute Fast Set back inthe mid/late 1980's. Now everyone knows I'm an old geezer!

My hair isn't relaxed anymore, but I'm thinking it would perfect for braid-outs...

My aunt says Lottabody Straight Stuff and Ultra Sheen Creme Satin Press Lotion (not the grease) work for dry sets, too. I haven't tried this yet. I don't see how they could offer any hold...

I might have to give those a try too. I love dry sets because they keep my ends healthy and moisturized while making my hair look off the hook.

I got the product in the mail this morning. It's been decades since I used Miss Cool. I don't remember it smelling like the sheldeez product (faintly sweet like Kool-Aid or Jell-O...), but it sure looks and feels like it. My hair is already loaded with my usual products. I'm going to try a twist-out on a few sections tomorrow. I really hope this is the same stuff.

Sassygirl-

I think this is the stuff Mirrormirror got a few months ago. I couldn't get a list of ingredients from the sheldeez site but these are the ingredients in what Mirrormirror has.

Is this the list on your bottle and is it in this order?
