I came in here because I was curious to know whether or not anyone here still does the "Green house "effect to increase their moisture. Anyone?

I've done the following:
  • Dyed my edges, because they're grey and I wanted to be able to see my old hairline again.
  • Bleached my brows (they are hair too). I prefer to keep them a lighter brown.
  • Shampooed, did a mild conditioner and am currently leaving my shower-cap on for an extended time (some call it the Greenhouse affect).

Another busy weekend! Its wash day for DD. We up and at em!

Wash: Natures Advantage Honey Almond
DC:???
Leavein: ??
Style: Pearly Glaze from Mane Choice...shes going to some resort for a bday party and it includes swimming so its gonna be a handful of twists that look good wet or dry!
DS: Yes my almost 16 yr old son is in on the style train too. I detangled and twisted his side show Bob fro last week and we're cowashing and retwisting at some point this weekend. That Mane Choice Pearly Glaze kept his twists frizz free and moist all week long! Issa winner!
...as for me...imma get in where I fit in. Be back with the process.
6:30 Sunday evening and I'm getting it in.
Wash: Natures Advantage Honey Almond
DC: TMC Cheers conditioner. 2 weeks in a row with this stellar conditioner! ❤❤
That's all I got left in the tank. I'm gonna sit under the dryer to start the DC process but this gone be an overnight affair. I'm tired! After a full day of yoga and errands I just wanna put my feet up and watch some trash on tv.

I forgot to post what I did last week... blowdried my hair with the Revlon blowdryer and moisturized with Camille Rose Fresh Curls. Yesterday, was wash day for me but still haven't decided on a hairstyle.

FRIDAY
- Washed and conditioned my hair in 4 sections
- Shampoo with Nizoral shampoo
- Condition and detangled with Camille Rose Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard (this stuff has amazing slip for detangling)
- Moisturized and sealed with CR Fresh Curls and shea butter
- Stretched hair with African threading (took me forever to do 6 out of 8 sections, so the last two sections were braided.)

I've got a friend visiting from out of town this week, so I'm planning on flat ironing tomorrow AM. Not sure how my new growth is gonna act, but the humidity is finally dying down a bit, so I'm gonna give it a shot.

Today
Clarifier: Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo
Pre-Poo: Olaplex #3 for several hours w/ plastic cap
Moisturizing Poo: L'Oreal EverCreme Deep Nourishing Shampoo
D/C: Silicon Mix w/ Hada Labo Premium + a tbsp of salt, overnight w/ plastic cap

Tomorrow
Heat Protectant/Serum: CHI Silk Infusion
Styling: Blow-dry w/ comb attachment + flat iron in small sections w/ the chase method

@Ivonnovi If you're talking about "baggying" (just using a plastic cap/bag over moisturizer/conditioners/oils) then I do this all the time. I used to use a steam cap with subpar results - could've been the cheap cap I was using, maybe a hooded dryer would work better but even in the salon, I feel like that doesn't really do anything. But using a plastic cap for 2+ hours, or even overnight, is the only way I've been able to actually get my products to fully penetrate. I love it.

Took down my crochet locs because I could feel my hair in the back beginning to loc together.

Conditioner: Tresemme smooth and silky
Shampoo: Redken hair cleansing creme x2
Overnight DC: Tresemme smooth and silky + Dudleys drc 28
Leave-ins: TGIN green tea + ic fantasia serum

I do it maybe 1-2 times a week purposefully, or when I remember to. I guess it’s from the way I put my hair up, but my longer lengths don’t really seem to benefit from it much, since they’re wrapped up deep within my bun.

GHE works really well on my roots though since they’re the closest to my scalp, which helps keep my new growth soft if I’m stretching for a while.

Is this deep conditioning over night with a plastic bag on?
That's what I'm doing right now with an Olaplex treatment.

I haven't done one in weeks and I think my hair may be getting thinner (it's very bleached)
So I want to protect what I do have.

Tomorrow, I will wash out, deep condition for a few hours with Shea Moisture JBCO and then style with kccc and wetline extreme gel.

Pre-poo'd with SSI Coconut Sherbet overnight
-Cleansed with Pattern Beauty poo.
-Oil Rinsed w/ST Knot Dressing.
Why did I ever stop oil rinsing? :cupid:
-Currently, DC'ing w/ Pattern Beauty Intensive Condish, under Hot Head.

Will LCOB with Pattern Beauty LI in lieu of LRC, HTN Daily Growth Moisturizer, BASK Palm Tapioca, HTN Growth Oil, & HV Almond Glaze.

Will put in two giant Bantu knots to stretch my hair.

I'll review the Pattern Beauty products in that thread.

I forgot to exfoliate my scalp

Thankful to have the time to fully dry my hair this morning!
Styler: TMC Biotin gel & then some sort of hair polisher from TMC's Cheers line.
This gel flakes for me. Yet it improves the feel and texture of my hair every time I use it... so I'm torn. I'm gonna continue to experiment with it until it's done though!

Yes to the bolded. But you can also achieve similar results by leaving the baggy on for a few hours during the day OR, in my experience, during a good 30-60 minute workout. It's just all about generating enough body heat to sorta "steam" your hair from within. I usually get the best results from working out with it on and leaving it overnight.

And I leave it on with Olaplex overnight as well, always works great for me. :yep: I do it with basically any product I want to really penetrate into my hair (D/C's, pre-poo oils, moisturizers, Olaplex, etc.)

Just got home from vacay. Taking out my passion twists and then will do a pre-poo for wash day tomorrow and wig prepping for winter.
