I relaxed and nuetralized... I am still getting pink suds an hour later...
I have left the neutralizer in for 5-15 minutes At a time and I am still getting pink suds...

what' going on...
I now have ORS and Kenra clarify on and then will try with the Neutralizer again...

Any suggestions... I am water logged:lachen:

In my experience, you have to rinserinserinse for a long time to try and get as much of the relaxer out with water as you can. if you put the neutralizer on before you're massaged out the relaxer it's going to be very hard to get it out.

You'll probably have to work up to a really good lather with a reg or clarifying shampoo. Then, if you have any neutralizer left, use that for your last wash, and follow all that with a moisturizing con or light reconstructor, b/c all that shampoo can be very drying. Good Luck -- you'll get better!

I normally neutralize 3-4 times (and this is after I rinse and do a protein treatment). I do a quick wash first to get most of the relaxer residue out, then I lather up again and leave the suds in my hair for 10-15 minutes so that the poo gets a chance to actually do it's job. I then poo again and by that time, the suds are white. Are you sure there's no relaxer creme still on your scalp or even under nails (if you relaxed w/o gloves)? The smallest amount of residue will cause the poo to turn pink. Also...is it a faint pink?

An Apple Cider Vinegar rinse will definitely finish the neutralizing process. Put a couple of tablespoons in a bottle (about 16 oz) and fill the rest with warm water (distilled if you have it). Just pour over head/hair, let sit a couple of minutes, rinse and then shampoo again. The suds should be totally white. HTH

Sounds like good ole' Phyto! :lachen: What relaxer did you use?
What everyone previously said should help out. My pal, Phyto, takes alot of rinsing. First, start with rinsing out the relaxer as much as you can, then do a quick neutralize shampoo. During your second neutralizing shampoo (or your third depending on how whether you've gotten most of the relaxer to rinse out), allow the 'poo to set for 3-5 minutes before rinsing and then repeat. With Phyto, I know for sure it takes more than 3 shampoos for the suds to turn white. You should be okay. Follow up with some kind of protein reconstructor in case you overprocessed a bit.

Don't be discouraged. You now know you have to rinse out the relaxer very well before u apply the neutralizer. A lot of us have been there. Don't give up.
