See this is why Reniece is so great...

Kurlee It really does a good conditioning job and is a cleanser as well. Hopefully she makes it available to the public. Golden75 You could try removing rows from the brush you already own.

ceecy29 My denman been modified! Learned that quick! So i got the row space, its the teeth width within the rows, for blowdrying. My denman was great for flat ironing, much easier then trying to hold a comb.

LOVE Reniece! I've been a client for 2 years now. She styles my natural hair. I see her about every 3-4 months for a Demi perm color retouch, deep condition, blow out and flat iron and trim (if needed). This in one salon you will never have to bring any products or tools along with you. You can go in relax and ENJOY getting your hair pampered. She does a Pre-poo at the shampoo bowl! I don't know of any other salon that does that. I decided to cut my hair to shoulder length to get a fresh start after a few months seeing her. I've completed cosmetology school and I continue to learn so much from her with every visit. She will always be my personal hair stylist as long as she's in business.

She is really sweet and always answers questions promptly on Instagram. As soon as I found out we were going to be stationed in DC in a few months, I knew I wanted her as a stylist. I would want the same services as you...straight hair every 3-4 months. I'm on the list to be notified when consultations/appointments open.

She has an apprentice program. Her 2 Junior Stylists mentioned earlier in this thread completed it. It was 15 months. She hasn't started a new one yet. TRUST. I'd one of the the 1st to apply! Haha. Details about the apprenticeship are on her website.

Yes you will be very pleased with your decision. It took me two years. I just never gave up. Signed up for the mailing list & followed up periodically by email when openings where announced.

It's the GREATEST when you have a pro stylist who is a PARTNER in your hair journey. I'm good at doing my own hair but it has made a huge difference having someone I can go to who understands & advocates my philosophy & approach to hair care. I think all stylists should be this way. I know I will be with my clients.

My siggy photo is from my cut back in March 2013 & my last visit October 2014.

Have a great weekend!

I'm always amazed at how she's really able to thicken her clients hair. I emailed her for suggestions and she was really helpful.

I love 20 min from the salon and hopefully she'll be my stylist one day.

i wonder what she uses in her secret deep conditioner recipe. ive been playing around with my own concoctions. hers has the perfect slip!!

Lol so I'm not the only one wondering about that. That conditioner looks like it made their tangles just melt! And the hair looks so moisturized

I go to Reniece and she is great. First she is a very kind person in general. But for hair, this video shows me one reason she is great, and that is because she varies methods depending on the person's hair. She has never used this method on my hair, and always uses a comb attachment. I am 4b.

She is also the most gentle stylist I've been too. She is super patient. I am literally too scared to go to anyone else, as I have been tortured so much over the years by numerous brutal stylists, I just can't.

All that said, my hair is a beast. Most of the time I go in, I go in with it already washed , detangled, and blow dried, and she just does further blow drying and straightening. Otherwise, it will take a long time for her to detangle my hair, one of the ways I know that my hair is legitimately time-consuming to detangle, as even she as a very experienced person finds it time-consuming. She has done it before, though. When I first started going in, we needed several sessions to get my hair fully detangled and able to stay stretched for even a short period after blow drying. I've come to know, and she agrees, that I need to blow dry my hair, with an attachment, semi-regularly or it will be a tangled nightmare.
