Sedu & Texturize questions

MY SEDU FLAT IRON ARRIVED IN THE MAIL TODAY! :dance7:
it says that it doesn't damage your hair which is hard for me to believe, but i was wondering what products you sedu (and other flat iron) ladies use with it. I was thinking about buying a biosilk heat protectant spray... I have Redkin's Smooth Down but i don't care for it. Once I purchase another protectant I will definitely have another fotki update :)

Also,

I talked to my stylist today. She says I look great with braidouts and said that I could start texturizing my hair and when all my relaxed ends are gone I can air dry my hair to get the "curly look." She also said that if i want it straight all i need to do is blow dry it or flat iron. This sounds too good to be true! I am seriously thinking about texturizing my hair now on ...and will slowly trim my relaxed ends.

So you texturized ladies... how exactly do you style your hair? What do you do to make it straight?

I have a Sedu. I only used it once, because I burnt a section out of my hair. I would advise starting out on the lowest temperature, to see how much heat your hair can take.

What temperature did you use when it burnt your hair?? I was thinking about starting at 180...

I think I put it around 300. I have thick, coarse hair too, so I was surprised that happened. I want to try again but I'm scurred.

I have a sedu and I think like any flat iron, it can damage your hair. I like mine but prefer my maxiglide because it gets my 3c/4a hair really straight- almost as good as a hard press. I use Aveda Anti-Humectant pomade but I'm looking for something else myself.
As far as texturizer, I'm bias being natural and also from having a texturizer put in twice but here are my thoughts. Even your hairdresser cannot guarantee what your hair is going to look like or how your hair will react to a texturizer. Some people have great looking texturizers while others are either over or under processed. What she can guarantee is that if you have a texturizer, she'll have a more regular client. Not to say she's not being sincere but that's just been my experience. Each time I texturized, I did so thinking it was the magic solution and ended up disappointed. It does take more work to straighten my hair but it gets just as straight natural than texturized.
