I have had a Chi and Sedu.
I liked both.
The sedu has the temp control which makes me nervous because I am afraid to turn it up to high.

My hair stylists uses the Chi on my hair. I used it and my hair turned out great. The lack of temperature setting bugged me at first but since it works so well and doesnt fry my hair, I like it.

I am a 4a and all natural!

The plug on my Sedu cracked and now it won't come on. My warranty is expired, so I'm wondering if there is anywhere I can get if fixed?

BTW, I think I like the CHI better for my natural hair.

I've never tried the Sedu or the Chi, but I have a Maxiglide. I'm a natural 3c/4a and I can straighten my hair after airdying my banded hair on 8 (the setting number) in about 2 hours (that's good for my hair!!!). I don't use the steam (I hear that it can be damaging to my hair).

I have an FHI which I rarely use except to straighten my roots when I rollerset and wear my hair out on occasion. I'm wondering now if I should get another. I loved my FHI at first, now I find myself underwhelemd.

I have a 1 1/2" Sedu and I love love love it! I set the temp to 340 degrees and it gets my hair shiny and straight. Before I got the Sedu I used a Marcel iron and an oven. The Sedu is sooooo much better.

i just used my maxi glide for the first time... not a big fan of the teeth, but when i used just the plates it was great.
