Can somebody please explain to me how to search & destroy my curly, layered hair? I want to grow the layers out but I want to be able to kill the splits. Should I even do this? Or should I BC?

As long as your hair is long enough to pull forward for you to see the ends, you can do this. I S&D, only when my hair is straightened so it's easier to see the splits.

After my hair is clean, conditioned, I take med sections and twist the length around see whats sticking out, and you can see the splits, then I trimm right above the split, little by little, I don't cut into my length but I get the splits, befor ethey get me I keep doing these sections until I've done all my hair.

I have to agree-I think it is easier to dust the ends on straightened hair.
