I want a consensus of who uses satin scarves and caps vs pillowcases. I have a cap but I think I'm leaning toward buying satin pillowcases. How say you?

I use both. I like the way the satin pillow case feels for my hair, but I don't like how it feels on my face. I still use it though. Weird, I know.

I just use a silk scarf. I can be a pretty rough sleeper, but it always stays on because I tie it on my forehead.

I have and use both simultaneously.
ETA satin bonnet and satin pillowcase.

I have both, but I lean more toward the pillowcase because my hair either slips out of the scarf, or I tie it too tight. Plus, there are many nights when I'm just too tired to be bothered with the scarf.

I have both a satin pillowcase and satin scarf/bonnet. Honestly, I only use the pillowcase on a nightly basis since it already on my pillow and I forget to wrap my hair almost every night.

Where are you purchasing your satin/silk pillowcases?

I use a silk scarf but I want a pillowcase as well.

Just thought about this myself today.

I currently use satin scarfs but I have had a struggle with keeping it on through the night. I have two types - drawstring and triangle scarf.

I am currently researching purchasing a silk pillowcase instead.

I think I read on an old thread about these two. Also I think someone mentioned Dharma trading co as well...

I will probably succumb and order either one of the aboev over the weekend. But I wouldn't mind a cheaper option for similar value.

I used to use both but I stopped wearing scarves a couple months ago due to suspecting that the friction of the scarf rubbing against my hair and my pillowcase rubs out my edges. Can't have that... I haven't seen any adverse effects going scarf-less. My hair stays moisturized with the satin pillowcase and my styles are fine in the morning.

lately, nothing...I need to pick up a pillowcase, that would def help me cause i tend to just fall asleep and forget to slap on my bonnet or scarf.
but surprisingly, my hair seems to do fine without head coverings in most styles. my curly styles are fine if i just pineapple.

I use both at the same time. Before I brought my satin pillowcase I used to sleep with my bonnet and a cotton pillowcase. I didn't think sleeping with my cotton pillowcase was bad until I bought my satin pillowcase. My hair feels smoother, and more moisturized. I think its because my satin bonnet was thin, and my cotton pillowcase would cause friction between my hair and the pillow, making my hair rough, while at the same time sucking up all the moisture from my hair.

MRJ1972 I bought mine at Bed bath and beyond since I always have coupons for them and they have more colours.
But I've also seen them at Walmart by the durags, bonnets etc. And at Sally's in the same area.

But to answer the OP, I also use both in case I forget my bonnet :yep:

Scarf + pillowcase. Nothing stays on my head at night. NOTHING. I just put it on anyway, figuring my hair will at least have some extra protection for ___ hours. That's better than nothing.

I have multiple satin pillow cases. However, I use a satin scarf or bonnet depending on how my hair is styled, in combination with the pillowcase. I want to make sure my hair is protected.

I get a nice little halo of breakage around the hairline where the scarf or cap is. My hairline is low on my forehead so it really has nowhere to go. I'm a pillowcase girl as well.

See this is why I was thinking about getting a pillowcase. Where my cap lands around my edges just looks horrible.

For those who use pillowcase only - aren't you concerned with hair oils causing your face to break out? That's my major concern, but my scarf always comes off :/

I use both. That wasn't an option so I guess I'm not voting. Sometimes I just don't feel like putting on a scarf. The pillow covers those stints when I want to be free!
