When you rollerset your hair do you roll your hair up or down and why?

I tend to rollerset down in the front, up in the back
No reason except my hair is long in the back and its harder for me to roll down properly

I rollerset downward. I learned how to rollerset through Macherie's dvd. The mohawk i do the first roller upward and the rest downward. The other parts i do downward with exception of two rollers near the mohawk. That's how she does hers so i just mimic her.:look:

I try to roll downward all over but sometimes depending on how my parts are made, I have to roll upwards in some locations....

I started to roll up after watching Chinablk's youtube tutorial. I find the curls are easier to style and it's faster to slap the rollers in for me.

I roll up...for me, it's easier to get the hair taut on the roller that way.
And during stretches, my roots dry straighter when I roll up, because the roots are laying on the roller and are held straight. When I roll down..it's like they form this weird, slack bridge between the roller and my head, and they don't dry as stretched out as I'd like. I hope that makes sense.
If I want my ends to be bumped under, I just silk wrap or wrap overnight after taking out the rollers. It's usually enough to eliminate that annoying flip.

i roll up. gets my roots straighter. & i love how pronounced the flip is on my short hair. it's funky & i get compliments!

great thread, right now I do both, whatever's easier.
