Has anyone used it as a leave in? I’m thinking about adding it to my daily leaving in moisturizer. I wash, dc every 1.5-2 weeks.

I remember reading someone's offhand comment somewhere saying that people following this trend will be sorry once they realize that they're introducing mold and bacteria to their hair. Made me have second thoughts about trying to use it as a leave in...

Yes, this what I was thinking about actually. Not a good idea. I’ll stick to using as a rinse only.

how do you all make fermented rice water? do you all just fill up a jar with rice and water and then let it sit or do you all boil it first?

I don't boil mine. After I rinse the rice, I put it in a glass jar with the water to ferment. I let it sit out for 24-48 hrs then I put it a spray bottle and then put it fridge or use if right away.

@planters
I personally would not want to leave that in my hair unless I made it smell real, real good.:nono:
Yeah... it stinks. I was like, no way I’m not rinsing that out. But I was at TJ Maxx and found some lavender essential oil. OMG! I can’t believe it got rid of that smell! I’m going to put lavender essential oil in everything now. I may buy the other scents the ladies have been raving about.

I made another batch of rice water on Sunday.

This time I boiled the water first before pouring over the rice. It's still sitting on my counter, I'll use it this weekend.

Recently purchased Soultanicals Rice Water Rinse. Haven't tried it yet or smelled it.:look:

ST'icals usually make very good smelling products, so I am looking forward to using it.:love:

I used mine last wash day. It smells herbal-ly. I used it before DC-ing. My hair was very soft afterwards.

I'm washing today and will use after I condition.

Has anyone noticed any increased growth after starting the rice water? The women on FB seem to think that it's the holy grail, but I've not heard the ladies here talk about it too much.
@snoop
I like the way my hair feels when I remember to make & use it, but cannot contribute this one thing to particular benefits?

I recently purchased a Feremented RW DC'er from a Seller on E.TSY, that I love.

Are you ladies using the FRW as the last step as a final rinse or use the FRW and then rinse thoroughly with cold water?
I would think the scented hair products we put into our hair would mask any stench, no?

When you doing deep research and stumble on some great tips.

Ladies. Add fenugreek seeds to your rice water. All the additional benefits of fenugreek PLUS helps with the smell. You can thank me later lol jk jk but seriously for ladies who already use rice water I’d love to see if you notice a difference

The thread I found the info: https://forum.blacknaps.org/viewtopic.php?t=962

Used - Soultanicals Rice Water Tonic. Will continue to use weekly over the next wash days.

Herbally - but not off putting. Smells like something I've had before? Can't think of what it is tho'?
