Review of "The Assistant Clip"

arosieworld

Thanks 4 our nail *****!
If you blow dry this is the best thing since sliced bread!! I am sure its useful for other things too! I just got this today at Sallys for less that $6 bucks and used it after my dc to tension blow dry my hair (I will review my new blow dryer later). I parted from ear to ear and clipped the top half then separated the bottom half into 3 manageable sections and tucked 2 into the bristles so I could focus on one....It kept the wet separate from the dry and made it easy to work with one hand.... I love this thing!!

Yeah I dont think I can explain it really well but the whole thing is a clip and on top of the clip are those hard bristle like things. (the don't bend) You can slip hair between the bristles and it hold it (sort of like the velcro rollers but bigger) the hair comes easily out of the bristles but does not fall out so you can keep most of your hair in the larger part of the clip and work with the sections you separate and leave in the bristles..

Ok I got it that second time around, and I didn't see any vids on YT. seems like it would come in handy, I may pick one up one day.

I just watched the video on Sally's. It looks pretty nifty. It'd be great for longer hair I think. :yep:

EDTA: It would DEFINITELY come in handy when blow drying. That's a nifty idea and looks to make maneuvering alot more convenient.

oh boy, my curls would get so tangled up in that thing. not for me!

I thought that too but Naturallycurly did a review on it and seemed to like it and my hair was curly and wet when I used it and it was fine. I pre-detangle my hair before blow drying and I also sort of push the hair in and out of the bristles I never brushed the bristles through my hair. If that makes any sense.. LOL I will have to look for the video ILuvsMuhgrass is talking about maybe it would explain better.

@wheezy807 Thanks so much for that!!! If I ever relax again I am sooooo going to use this... The way he shows parting the hair for cutting and blowdrying is how I used it..... I really loved it.........

omg!!! this would be great for self relaxing

My thoughts exactly! :yep:

...the only thing I'd like to know OP is if you've used it, did it feel as though it snagged your hair? I read your previous posts above this one in regards to it having bristles to help hold your hair in place and I'm just wondering how that works with textured hair.

No it did not snag.... I was careful because I was afraid of snagging so I did good parts and clean sections but I really liked it......I am texlaxed my last touch up was in early summer and I kept a lot of texture to begin with.......but naturallycurly also did a review on it....

If you guys use your imagination a bit, it can be used for relaxers and coloring BUT it could also be used for sectioning natural hair for twists, braiding, conditioning treatments, flat ironing, etc. I can see the potential of using this as a hair clip for a few fancier updo's.

I can see using this on wiggling kids that don't want to sit still for you to do intricate parting... it looks like it should cut down on the time spent. Not a necessity but nifty to have still. :yep:

^^^^OMG made there is a way for this to help me french braid......I want to learn to fish tail but you seem to need 5 hands to do it...

I decided to wash my hair tonight and used this when i detangled. I really like it, my hair stayed in it and when i got ready to pull the section out it did not catch or leave a hair behind. I was careful also while using it and not doing huge chunks but medium sized it works on my hair, great buy and thanks for the thread rosie.

Thanks for the review. I bought this a few weeks ago but have yet to use it. I will definitely try it out next time I'm doing hair.
