I decided to flat iron my hair for Mother's Day. It takes me forever to do a roller set and I usually wind up with big bouffant hair

.

I went to Ulta (I had a coupon and gift card) to buy a ceramic flat iron. I looked for the Jilbere that several of you recommended, but couldn't find it. The salesperson told me that they don't carry them anymore because they have had many returned (they died after a few weeks/months of usage.) Instead a purchased a Wigo 1" ceramic flat iron, at her recommendation. She said that they used it in the Ulta salon and that it works every bit as well as the Chi ceramic flat iron she had at home. When I asked her what product I could use with it to thermally protect my hair and prevent frizz, she suggested the Biosilk Silk Therapy Smoothing Solution. This was a big concern for me because heat tends to make my hair pouf and frizz rather than get straight

. This product was a bit pricey - $15.99 for a 8.5 oz spray bottle

so I made sure to put my receipt in a safe place in case it didn't pan out

Last night I washed and deep conditioned my hair, let it air dry and then applied the Biosilk Smoothing Solution to my hair. It was a breeze to flat iron my hair

!! I was so pleased that my hair stayed straight all day and didn't get frizzy. I love my new Wigo ceramic iron. The Biosilk made my hair a bit crunchy; I may have put too much in

. Anyhow, I am still very pleased with the results and I plan to keep this product. I would recommend it for anyone who has this big hair problem, especially people like me with natural hair that have difficulty straightening it without going to a salon professional.

Congratulations Elyse.

How much did you pay for your flatiron? Hmmm...that's interesting what the lady said about the Jilbere iron. A lot of ladies on this board have purchased that one including me.

The Wigo iron is priced at $59.99. They had some other ones that were less expensive but this was the only one there with a 3 year warranty and the sales lady raved and raved about how well it works.
