I joined this site months ago, and although this is only my 2nd post, I have been on this site everyday soaking up all of the wonderful info

I finally need some advise that I couldn't find in the search. In December I went back to relaxing my hair after 5 years of being natural. Today was the first time I got a touchup since December (yup, that makes 16 weeks - only becuase I never know what I am going to do with my hair, I was going to get my hair braided, changed my mind, yada, yada, yada)
Anywho, wanted to know what's the best thing to do to my hair for my first wash after the touchup? should I do a protein conditioner or anything special? should I expect any shedding?

I am trying to be a good girl and do all I can to take care of my hair myself and this site has been invaluable. I have learned so much about hair, even though this site is not good for someone like me who is a bonafide PJ (everyone in Sally's knows me by name, the owner of the beauty supply near my house says "you're back!" when I walk in, and there is a room waiting for me at Betty Ford)

I do have one grip about LHCF: I am convinced that some of you ladies are pulling my leg - Elasta QP Mango Butter does not exist!!!

I have looked for it EVERYWHERE... oh, I must try it

I usually use a protein treatment followed by a moisturizing treatment my first wash after a touch-up. The protein will help keep your hair strong a keep excess shedding at bay. Good luck gurl!

What city/state are you in? Maybe a member who is in your area, can let you know where to find the Mango Butter. Or ask the beauty supply shop to order some....it is definitely some good stuff.

The only places in my area that I was able to find Elasta QP Mango Butter were the Asian beauty supply stores. Maybe you can check in your area. You can also contact Elasta QP at their web site (maybe they can help you out). Elasta QP Web Site

Thanks for the tips ladies, I will certainly do a deep condition with protein for my first wash.... the Mango Butter is my quest!
