Here's the thing: what if you think twists and braids are ugly?

I usually air dry my hair in twists and then just wear the twists up with a clippy. It's boring and it's ugly and I'm sick of it. My hair is growing, but it's losing its thickness; so I need to think of another method.

could it be time to switch products?

I've seen twists look really cute on people but my head just doesnt seem to be cut out for it. Maybe when I get more length I'll like it? I do wear them at home and flat twists under a half wig.

I think many of us are in a life long search for the holy grail in a hair product. If I did not have enough of a space problem with all my PJ exploits, I'm just revisiting henna, adding amla and some other goodies this time.

So far so good. growth and getting more thickness. I've always wanted big and long hair. I just need to get them BOTH at the SAME time.

Well... what I can say is that retaining length for me has ALOT to do with the frequency of washing my hair. I neglected to wash my hair in the time frame that I was used to and lo and behold...note siggy pics. :(

Heat is my hair's friend too. I have to deep condition during every wash. I rollerset my hair to dry. I know for a fact that airdrying breaks my hair off. What I'm going to attempt to do is dry my hair in big braids with rollers just on the ends. Perhaps that will cut down on the drying time. I'm in the experimenting stage right now.

@Browndilocks.... I totally  your hair!!!! Do you wear your hair straight the majority of the time? If so, how often do you flatiron?

what works for me:
deep condition with every wash(bi-weekly)
flat iron ------ garnier triple conditioner as leave in, seal with coconut oil ,
add a little yellow ecosyler gel(to dry flat ironed hair)
then bantu knot.....
i recieve soft full curls and best of all NO KNOTS!!!!!!

My retention has been due to low-manipulation styles like wash and go's, rollersets, and buns. I have to be careful how much heat I put on my head because I have bleached blonde color and if I over-due the heat, my hair will suffer.
