Does anyone do this, for example just relaxing the curliest sections and leaving the rest? Has this been good for your hair and is it easy to style?

No, I've never done this.
Perhaps one day I'll relax my nape only. I have not been retouching it for several months now and it's growing quite nicely.

My mom did this for about 6 months, it worked great for her! Wish I could.

I'm planning on doing this for my next re-touch. I'm going to relax everything but the bottom part and nape area. That area has always been a more of a wavy/loose curl pattern versus the top section of my head which is more tightly curled.
Plus the my bottom/nape area is more fine and delicate. I'm curious to see how it does when I give it a break from relaxers.

I don't do this, but I think I'll stretch my relaxer in my nape area. I need to be extra careful with that area because I've had breakage issues. After my wedding I'm going to put myself on a schedule to relax the front sections of my hair every 10-16 weeks (depending on if I use braids to assist with stretching) and the back section as well every other time I relax the front.

I was going to try this out. I was going to relax the middle lower crown area of my hair, and then my bangs/part area and maybe the edges. I'm still thinking about doing this because i like the fullness of my hair. I wonder how it would turn out.
