Congrats dear, you're almost there!

Hey Kelle!!!

Girl please tell me we are hair twins...lol! Trying to get my mane looking like yours though............:yep:.

IM IN!!!

Current Status: 30 Weeks I think. My last relaxer was December 29,2007

Last (Healthy) Stretch Time: I use to stretch every three months

Original Stretch Goal: Don't know..Until I felt like getting a relaxer

New Relaxer Stretch Challenge Goal: One full year(52 weeks) I thinking about getting some braids to help me get to a full year.

Potential Relaxer Date: January 1,2009

Can I ask you what is your regimen? Your hair looks so thick and healthy in your pics.

I am now entering week two since my last relaxer after a 15/16 week stretch. The growth was nice, about an inch, wish I had more, but we'll see what happens this rounds with my incorporation of Mega Tek.

Girl that looks good. I can't even tell its a hair piece. How do falls work? You clip it in or something? And how do you get your edges to lay down so well?

It looks like you holding up pretty well according to those pics.

Thanks! The falls have an attached comb in the front and back of the hair piece. I place my hair in a baggied pony tail underneath and put it on like a headband. I use mango butter and wave nouveau to lay down my edges.

I want in! This would be a great chance for me to show myself that I can really move beyond what I've ever been able to do.

Last stretch time was 13 weeks

Current stretch time is 7 1/2 weeks post

Original Goal - October 12, 2008

New relaxer stretch goal; December 15, 2008

This will be my third challenge as I've had to drop out of the Deep Condition one because I got a little over-zealous with the conditioning. :nono:
I plan to stretch by wearing weaves and wigs. I'm wearing a short curly sew-in right now that I had put in on Friday nite and I'm lovin' it!

Hey I was just riflin' through your fotki and I think we are! Down to the bangs .. although mine are growing out now .. And I'm tryna get like you; I loved the pics you posted in that one thread .. I think it was show your best relaxed shot ..

I'm 10 weeks post .. and it took 2 hours [with breaks] to detangle in small dry sections with my fingers .. that's the last time I'll detangle until school starts back up and I get my blowout I think ..

Your hair was dry?? There is no way I would ever try to detangle my hair dry. I'm almost 6 months Post now. detangle with running water and lots of Conditioner works well for me.

I used to detangle it wet with condish but for some reason, it's way easier for me to fingercomb-detangle dry first, plait up in about 6 sections, and then I comb through it one last time when wet; but the actual detangling can't happen when wet, idk if I shed alot and my hair matts up, or what, it's just no good for me.:nono:

Just checking in...

I am officially 8 weeks post. I usually relax every six weeks. I am shooting for 13 weeks this time (I am trying to get on the 4 relaxers a year schedule). Thus far, no problems. No problems thanks largely to Stephanie Jones Turbie Twist Steam methods I do that 2-3x's a week and the comb goes through my hair like a warm knife through butter when I rollerset. We'll see if I can keep this up when my MT finally gets here and kick's in.

Checking in at 13 weeks post. Aiming for 20!

My sis asked me my stats and just shook her head when i said i'm going for 20 weeks.

She said i'm starting to look like a Chia pet. That was foul! It aint THAT bad....yet!

I'm gonna try to do a WNG this week and see how that turns out.

I tried my new homemade glycerin moisture spritz and my roots are defined as hell! Moisturized but defined.

I think im gonna bring my own relaxer to my stylists when i relax. Try something new...

Okay i dont know if its the Mega Tek or what but these roots are getting out of hand. I washed and rollerset my hair the other day, used my new moisture spray and yeah roots are soft but its hard to manage.

I'm calling my stylist to get some kinky twists.

I've been searchin/lurkin' the kinky twists threads and i really could use the relief for another 2 months during this stretch.

Any kinky twists suggestions please let me know! My only fear is washing them.

I am so happy I'm getting relaxed next wednesday..I will have survived my stretch for 12 weeks. I won't even discuss what my ng is looking like. The next stretch I will had another 4 weeks to work my way up to 16 wks. My goal is to only relax no more than 3 times a year.

Kelle,
I tried your detangle method this weekend and WOW!!! It was great! I let my hair air dry a little first and proceeded with the fingers and girl my hair loved it!
Either way of detangling works well for my hair!!!

MizzBrown,
Kinky Twist sounds like a great idea. My NG is behaving this week but last week was a bunch of :wallbash:!
Get your twist on girl!

You lucky girl! I decided to stretch for 2 more weeks!!! Your hair is beautiful. :yep:

I'm so glad it worked for you! I love doing it like that, I don't think I get one broken hair ..

I am 12 wks post and I am ready to RELAX! But I am going to hold out. I plan on getting a weave in sept. I am getting so bored with styling. Depending on how long I can keep up with the weave, I may stretch a little longer.

I am getting bored with my hair! I have been wearing buns and phony ponies for the past 2 weeks. I am 10 weeks post and my hair is doing pretty good. I am suprised because the last time I stretched, my hair was a tangled mess around wk 10. I found that rinsing my hair with my back facing the shower and my head facing the ceiling, is helping me manage. I have not combed my hair in 2 weeks. I rinse daily with Lanza detangler. Rinse, bun, rinse, bun, DC, rinse, rinse bun.........that's my weekly cycle. Here is a pic:

My hair isn't long enough to bun yet... i can't wait so I can do something else with my hair. Right now, I deep condition, rinse like you do, and wet rollerset every other day.

Ya'll...

I almost had to post in here for an intervention this weekend. I just finished week 9 of a planned 13 week stretch. My new growth is off the chain and looking at me like  WTH?! I came close to slapping a relaxer in this weekend so I hurried up and slapped some conditioner in to make that a moot point. But, my hair is no joke right now.

The good news is that my hair is in good shape and I am getting NO breakage. The "bad" news is that my MT is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I am scared to think of what my new growth will look like after 4 weeks of that given other people's growth.

I have already decided that I AM NOT doing my own relaxer at the end of this stretch. I underprocess six weeks of growth. There is no way I'm tackling this jungle by myself! My mom's stylist and I will be having a little chat about which relaxer she's putting in my hair.

Im 7 weeks post tomorrow. Its fairly easy I have about 1/2 inch of NG. Im not feeling it. Co-washing is making this a breeze for me.
