Relaxed/Texlaxed Ladies. List your favorite moisturizer and moisturizing DC!

Hey ladies.

It would be nice if we all listed our favorite moisturizer along with our favorite moisturizing DC and say why.

I'll start:

Fave Moisturizer: Bee Mine Luscious Cream Moisturizer

I was (and still am to an extent) in love with the SSI marshmallow moisturizer which is aloe based. It is/was great and moisturized my hair very nicely for an extended period of time. HOWEVER, the BM moisturizer is something out of this world, it is water based and leaves my hair soft for 2 full days, which says something for my dry, moisture gobbling hair. I love it and it has become a staple immediately. I will repurchase and repurchase for as long as they make it.

Fave DC: Shescentit Banana Brulee DC

I LOVE this DC! It leaves my hair extremely soft and detangled, the comb glides through. I love that it comes in different fragrances and that it is so thick and smooth. It has been a staple for quite a while and I have no desire to try other moisturizing DCs. Yes To Carrots Pampering Conditioner comes in at a close second.

Fave moisturizer: Darcy's Botanicals Coconut Lemongrass Transitioning Creme

Leaves my hair (ng & relaxed ends) very soft

Fave DC: Silicon Mix (the original)

This melts my ng, detangles like a dream and leaves my hair moisturized for days

Fave Moisturizer: Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier. This may be a bit premature, but I just started using this today and my 8 weeks post NG and relaxed strands are still soft and moisturized by the end of the work day! The last 3 or so weeks of cooler temps have left my hair dry as straw and my old staple HS14 just quit on me.

Fave DC: Motions Oil Moisturizer Silk Protein. I'm trying to get off mineral oil as I'm convinced its the (main) culprit in dryness for me. In the no-MO category, I've tried AOHSR and it left my strands looking thin, fragile and wispy - no can do!

Claudie Ends Insurance #1 -- Keeps my Hair Moisturized, Reasonably Priced and Feels good all over and not necessary just 'on ends'

Favorite Deep Conditioner

Afroveda Ashlii Amla -- Love the way it makes my Hair Look/Feel

Moisturizer: I like the Elasta QP H2 leave in. Sometimes in certain spots I will use Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango butter. I also add evoo, evco and avocado oils to my co-wash cons

DC: I like to mix AO GPB, Lustrasilk Olive Oil, evoo, evco and/or avocado oil. I've only tried the Nairobi Humecta Sil once...but I like it.


ETA: in my DC I also use hemp seed oil or WGO

Favorite Moisturizer - ORS Carrot Oil; I've used this 2x daily since day 1 of my HHJ.

Favorite Moisturizing DC - Nexxus Humectress; Just started using this 2 weeks ago and fell in love with the softness it gives me! Before that, I used Motions Moisture Plus for almost 8 years.

co-signing on the nexxus humectress and neutrogena triple moisture . They both leave my hair moisturized and shiny. I also like v05 for co-washing.

I know this sounds crazy but I don't use moisturizer. I apply Gleau oil daily.
I've got several fave conditioners some of them being Humecto, Silicon Mix Protein De Perla, Alter Ego Garlic.

same here my conditioner is beginning to fail me at only 9 weeks post.

Moisturiser: Darcy Botanicals Peach Kernal Hydrating Milk. Love, love love this, it does the job it moisturises and keeps my hair hydrated all day and it smells good!

DC: Still haven't found anything to beat L'Occitane Shine Mask, but ORS Replenishing Pak is very close.

Favorite Moisturizer: Giovanni Direct Leave-In à la Kimmaytube (mixed with Aloe Vera gel, jojoba oil and castor oil)

Favorite DC: I started my HHJ with a two large bottles of treatment (Bonacure Repair Rescue and Time Restore), and until I finish those I won't be experimenting with DC. I mix either treatment with a small amount of Mane N' Tail conditioner and hemp seed oil, then DC with heat for 30 mins. My hair really seems to like this.

5 years later....these are still my staple moisturizer and DC. I love them; nothing else compares IMO

I just tried that Silicon Mix (I have yet to rinse it out) It smells like a perfume an older Aunt would wear but it feels very moisturizing
