Relaxed Ladies.....Is this true????

THIS SOOO NOT TRUE. One of my old hairdressers REFUSED to blow dry her clients hair after a relexer. She would rollerset the crown for volume and flat iron the rest of the hair.

I definitely do not believe that but when I was reading the directions on a just for me relaxer kit, they suggested using a blow dryer afterward for sleeker hair.

Your hair is in it's most vulnerable state right after a relaxer. So, not using direct heat that would come with a (Dominican?) blow-out is probably advisable! Hell, a Dominican blow-out is probably not the best idea on any day.

Exactly! I think the stylist was mad that she not getting blow outs was "damaging" her pockets! It's so sad how some stylists try to manipulate people into spending more money and not even caring about the health of their clients' hair.

OP, I wouldn't go back to a stylist like that...she doesn't have your best interest at heart. :nono:

Thank you Ladies!!!! I think she was upset that I do not come to her for my bi-weekly blowouts anymore. :nono:

That's one of the reasons why. :yep:

I was told by a stylist today, that if I do not blow out my hair after a relaxer (touch up), that I am actually doing damage to my hair. Is this true? I think that she was feeding me a line. I have never heard this before. :perplexed

If it were true I would not have any hair on my head.

I have a feeling that in this economy more people will be hearing "must-do-this-or-go-bald" tales from stylists that mean spending more at the salon. I just hope people don't fall for the b.s.
