Relaxed ladies, how often do you flat iron your hair?

and are you retaining length? I am trying to figure out if I can get away with another pass during the month. Right now I flat iron one time every time I get a relaxer which is every 4-6 mths.

every wash or once a week. i am considering going back to roller setting and flat ironing my roots. it's too hot for straight hair right now. my hair doesn't have a problem with heat as long as it is not excessive. i used heat weekly last year during the summer, but the weather wasn't as bad and it was longer. it didn't sit right on my neck.

btw, i am 4a fine, medium density and low porous.
