Someone asked a questions yesterdey about forum that were exclusively for relaxed heads. I think the post got lost last night while the boards were up for construction.

Anyone go to any other relaxed forums? I am a member of BHM and they don't seem as 'knowledgable' as the ladies here (they believe a lot of things that I think are  ). Also I go to a ezboard but it's not really busy. Any other suggestions? I need somewhere to go when this board is down.

You can search Yahoo Groups. I was a member of a relaxed hair group when I was relaxed a few years back....I'm not sure if it still exist or how active it is anymore though....I think once this board and other large ones went up, yahoo hair group activities started to go down hill.

Im not gonna mention any names....
But I was going to join one but they had terrible attitudes in regards to what you were if you dont give money...
I mean jeez...

Yeah, found a couple, but you can't edit messages once you submit them and they didn't have nearly as cool of smilies. :nono: But one did separate naturals from relaxed heads, so you wouldn't be subjected any dogma unless you choose to.

Sareca,
I doubt they would erase it. But I know the forum was under construction that nigh and some posts were deleted. Nothing against yours.

Off topic, I see you are on the UBH challenge. The Cathy Howse challenge? You are using UBH products? How is it going?

I kinda abandoned her products for Nexxus/Humecto and a few others, but I still use her methods. Weekly protein treatments, no brushing etc. But my hair will not be 6 inches longer at the end 'cause I broke her rule about trimming. I might go back to her products tho, but I can't be w/o a moisturizing deep conditioner. I don't know how she does it.

So would you say it is working? I am currently doing *something* like it. I use a reconstructor every wash but I also use a moisturizing conditioner after (I'm cheating lol).

What are you pros and cons? How much did you trim off. BTW thanks for replying.

Hey, mami

I think it was a great start. I used her products and methods exclusively for from June-Sep. My hair was definitely stronger, but it was hard as a brick from all protein. Although, I will probably never pick up a brush again, my hair really didn't do a 180 until I came here and found C&G.

Pros
----
weekly protein... good
no brushing... good
shift in perspective ... great!

Cons
-----
no trims.... bad! if you don't take off split ends they continue to split up the shaft
no moisturizing deep conditioning....bad i don't know why she has hair

I liked her products, then i got on a no cones kick and dropped 'em. I thought that's why my hair was was hard. Really, I just need to clarify more regularly 'cause of the hard water here. I'll probably go back to them.

I probably trimmed a good 3 inches (??) over the course of the last 9 months.

I think she means do what's best for you and don't try to stick to one specific regimen if it's not working for u! HTH.

(Sareca, Don't mean to put words in your mouth!)

Thank you for your reply! I was always curious about her methods. I always use a reconstructor (light protein) every wash but I still follow up with moisture. She always say "moisture moisture moisture" but her conditioner is loaded with oils and protein. Where is the moisture? So I follow her tactics but only with my own products. Again thanks for enlightening me on that.

Two things:

(1) Most people have NO idea how to care for AA hair.
(2) Almost everything we do to promote growth does the opposite.

Awww, I'm happy to respond! I think she's meaning her moisturizing cream and dew spray. But, you're right about her deep conditioner, it's nothing but protein.
