How often can relaxed hair be condition washed every week? I have 4a/3c hair, and I am afraid it will become dry if I condition wash too much.

I co wash 2x/week. Wash on the weekends. I would make sure you air dry if possible. That will help keep it from being so dry. I think the least amount of heat the better.

I co wash daily! I have type 4a hair. It gives my hair that added moisture that it needs. Helps minimize shedding and breaking and keeps my hair soft.

Same here. As long as you use a good moisturizing conditioner...keep your hair moisturized with a good oil...and use a leave in after your co wash...you shouldn't have a problem with dryness.

Are any of you gals having problem with a dry scalp as a result? Maybe I'm not completely rinsing the conditioner away...

I don't have any ill effects from CO washing frequently. It all lies in the conditioner I use and the products I use for airdrying.

Conditioner washing made my hair more moisturized than it ever had before! Since I started conditioner washes I don't like shampooing and my hair feels stripped of moisture. I do them twice a week and if I feel product build up I spot shampoo the area. I have a dandruff issue that has all but disappeared since I get to wash my hair more often.

Depending on my schedule, I will pre-condition for at least an hour w/o heat, rinse in the shower, then condition wash. My typical routine is to pre-condition for 10-15 mins, rinse in shower, condition wash, rinse, then condtion w/heat for 20 or more minutes.

Hi,

I'm also 3c/4a and I just started using Cream of Nature Shampoo(they have it for both reg and dry hair) and it gives the same results that a conditioner wash gives me. In fact I don't have to use a second conditioner behind it, however I do use a Motions conditioner every other week.

When airdrying,I use Pantene detangler leave-in, Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and Loreal Smooth Intense Serum to get my pony smooth.I put a smidge of hair butter in my hand and then add 1 or 2 squirts of serum.Mix the two together well till the butter is no longer white and then apply to my hair

Thanks for the info ladies! What are some good products to use when airdrying?

Phytodefisant is excellent for hair worn curly or straight. Are you looking for a product that will increase curl definition?

I condition wash 3-4x/week depending on my workout schedule. I love condition washes and my hair is relaxed. My hair has thrived from them. Heck, my hair feels like yuck when I don't wash it as often.

No, I am just looking for a product that won't leave my hair dry and crunchy after it's airdried.

Use a serum, some oil or a little conditioner - or all of them if you really have trouble with dryness.

I'd go with conditioner, oil and then a serum - in that order.

I shampoo & condition twice a week and co washes twice a week with no problems.
My dandruff problem has been eliminated.

Oh - BTW in the summer I CO wash daily as well.

The Phytodefisant is excellent as I said before. Start w/a leave-in, and try Elasta QP's Mango Butter w/some other oil, coconut, avocado, etc. as Tracy suggested. Humectress is a great leave-in conditioner or hairdressing. It leaves my hair so soft when used as a hairdressing!!

Hi I'm a newbie here, what do you mean by "co-wash" Thanks

[/ QUOTE ]
It's "washing" your hair w/conditioner instead of shampoo. Also refered to here as CW, CWC (condition-wash-condition) and no-pooing. It's more of rinsing your hair clean and conditioning.
