I have been receiving treatment for traction alopecia for a year now and I have definetely seen an improvement. Now I actually have a hairline in the sense that it has filled in, however the hair is still very short; it only long enough to pick with my fingers but it has been this length for some time so I assume it will grow quite slowly, but is there anything I can do to encourage it to grow? I was thinking of braids but I have a feeling they will be too heavy and cause the hair to fall out again.

I really, really wouldn't braid my hairline if i were you. Why not just do nightly oil massages with something like vatika oil or jojoba and just leave it alone- it may never be long but at least it will have filled in.

I definitel wouldn't do braids. Braids would probably be the worst thing you could do b/c they tend to cause traction alopecia. I use an essential oil blend & Doo Gro mega-thick revitalizer on my edges. I also wouldn't use a brush. Stick with nightly massages & TLC.
