Recap JoJoba vs JBCO

So I am new to all this oil stuff because I never ever use to put oil in my hair because I never thought any of them I would be able to use because my scalp could not stand grease on it. I would be itching and bumps and I would have to wash my hair every other day if I wore it out straight before I started covering my hair.

So for those who know oils I want to hear from you as to what does JoJoba oil do to your hair that say JBCO does not or how do you incorporate these oils into your regiment?

These 2 oils cannot be compared imo. Jojoba is a wax like "oil" that closely mimics the natural sebum produced by our scalp. JBCO is a mix of castor oil & a medication whose proper name escapes me right now but we called it "healing oil" in the islands.

I use both.:yep:

Jojoba is much lighter. They both have beneficial properties that aid the scalp and removal of sebum and promote growth, hair fall, etc...

JBCO is heavier and more concentrated. I'll use Jojoba mixed with my Leave-In and JBCO for general scalp massages.

I'll see if I can find something on both.

I love both oils! Jojoba I use on my scalp with teatree oil and I also use it as a sealant and in my dc's...jbco I have only used on my scalp. I might start using a little to seal my ends though considering it's super thick and really cold out right now where I live. But both oils are great just different

Thanks all I would love to know more about what is mixed in the JBCO, that was really new to me. I have been using it for about 2 yrs now and I just broke down and brought Jojoba oil so I am just now getting to know that oil. It is very light and I use to use jbco on my scalp every night since I co wash everyday. Now I have this other oil in my life and I just want to know what I am doing.

Oh I forgot to add this I notice that I can use jojoba oil to my curly hair and not notice that it is on my hair. no way i can do this with jbco.

discodumpling, thanks. I didn't know there was something else in jbco other than, well, castor oil. Maybe that's why folks claim they like it better than regular castor oil.

I'm not really a fan of jojoba oil, no adverse effects but nothing to make me purchase it again. But JBCO is my ace boon coon, I use it to massage my scalp, I use it to seal after moisturizing and especially on my ends. It really keeps my ng soft too. Sometimes I mix it with Megatek and massage my scalp. Probably the best oil in my arsenal. Oh yea, I also add a little fragrance oil to the jbco to make it smell better cuz folks be up in my hurr!

I thought JBCO was roasted castor seeds - before the oil was expressed? Versus the cold expressed oils that are sold in health food stores/wal*mark and the such. I didn't know anything was added. When my mother goes home she brings back black castor oil that my father's step sister makes.
