I think your hair gets thinner and grows slower when you get older. Usually begins in your late 40's, early 50's for most I believe.

my grandmothers hair grows extremely fast for a woman her age..and she's almost 70. and its still thick too. but then again she never relaxed her hair only colored it. All i know is that I have hope /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My grandmother had waist length hair. She never colored or relaxed it. She died at age 69 with no grey hair.

My mother has hair just below her shoulders, very thick and she does relax her hair. She is almost 70 now and it has not thinned at all.

Since u r natural now, you definitely have hope. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Plus, your hair is thick now. If u stay natural 4 the rest of your life, your natural days will outway your relaxed days. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

It depends of a lot of things, it is true that things do slow down as you get older, however, it depends how you lived your life in your youth, some ladies have grandmothers who still have thick hair when they died waist length, my mother died at the age of 72, three months from her 73 birthday, her hair was completely white stretched bra length and she was natural and she had very thick hair, she started to thin a little bit on top, after she started to massage her hair, her hair on top got very thick. She would always eat West Indian/Guyanese food, yams, sweet potatoes, plantain etc. My grandmother also died at the age of 81, she also had thick very black hair, was not as long as mummy's hair. My own hair has got thicker as I have got older, I'm 43. It all depends and these days there is so much about reversing the aging process, vitamins, healthy eating, exercise(yoga, pilates). Women who are in their fifties look like they are in their early thirties, I have met several woman, who are in their sixties have a head of thick very thick hair, so they are grandmothers and great-grandmothers and they obviously have looked after their body.
