I hardly ever use heat, so it would be business as usual for meWe used to do fun summer no-heat challenges. Would anyone be interested in that anymore? I kind of get the sense that a lot of people never use heat, so it's not much of a challenge I'd start it if there was interest, though.
I plan to only use it once for my June visit to my stylist and then maybe go all the way to September without touching my blowdryer or flatiron. I don't even use it that often, but that would still be a challenge for me.
I only use heat for my blow out trims and I have one scheduled for July so I can’t do a summer no heat challenge. We used to do fun summer no-heat challenges. Aww, that's so cute of him lolWe might have to end up moving with my MIL temporarily and my husbands first thought was all my hair stuff.
Please take no offence to what I'm trying to say. Or you could take the fence, it's your fence anyway.I’m on the fence, my MIL is great and would be nice to have extra help with the baby not to mention the money we’d save.
Babes, you are looking at this wrong. I don't know what your spiritual beliefs are (or aren't) but I put myself in your shoes (hope you wear a size 8 lol) and the Word talks about how For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! This is 2 Corinthians 4:17 in the NLT if you are interested. But on the other hand, I would have to pair down to super minimalist status considering my husbands stuff, my stuff and our baby’s stuff in a fully furnished house while our things go to a storage unit near our home.
That's not too bad actually. I had to live out of a storage unit almost 2hrs from where I was staying at the time being for about a year (actually I take this part back. I moved in with my relative in 2019, then the "C" word hit and I didn't move into my apt until I think 2021 or 2022)We are just waiting for our forever home to be ready which is going to be a little less than a year.
But think of the HANGTIMEI also probably would need to self relax now or have to wait till our house is ready which would practically make me natural again at 20 months post.

GIRL YOU BETTER TAKE THAT HELP!!!
Signed, a single mom lol
Also this will be a very intimate process. Either y'all get closer or get further away.

So I put it to you like this, you may have to be uncomfortable for a little while but it'll be worth it in a bit. You'll be with your husband, and your baby in your forever home.
Hopefully your hairstuff could fit in a suitcase or two?

before I moved into my apartment.
But think of the HANGTIME. You got this lol with new house you're gonna wanna do all types of things in it in addition to regular life. A lot is coming at you, and it would probably be helpful to limit stressors.
Somebody mentioned starting a no heat challenge just a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I cannot remember who it was....I would be interested in a no-heat challenge! I'm actually getting my braids done this week. I'm planning on keeping them in for the summer.
other than that, I get my silk presses every 2 weeks and I get my trims every 2 months. My hair isn't dry anymore thank God!
I'm gonna do a castor oil challenge while I have my braids in.....I remember I used to do those challenges religiously. I miss it.
Dry shampoo? Are you sure its not a fungus? Maybe some Sulfur 8 might help? It's stinky but it works.I need help. Lately my scalp has been so sweaty. I just got my hair done Saturday and my scalp is already sour smelling. I’ll wash it myself this weekend. How can I neutralize the odor? I was thinking of using baking soda to scrub my scalp.

That's what came to mind as I was reading your post. How are you thinking of using it, a scalp spray/paste or some other way?I need help. Lately my scalp has been so sweaty. Congratulations @PrettymettyI completed my MBA today! It was the perfect addition to my Earth Day festivities. I walk in June (Kentucky). I attended Western Governors University in Utah. I guess I better throw on one of those brand new lace wigs and take some graduation pics. #Madeit View attachment 503406
Here’s a pic of me and my best friend since preschool. She’s has an MBA too. Don’t mind the reversion. They had me sweat out my blowout doing TikToks.
I was thinking of combining shampoo, baking soda, and maybe essential oils to really scrub and detox my scalp. That's what came to mind as I was reading your post. How are you thinking of using it, a scalp spray/paste or some other way?
Sulfur 8 is a great idea actually. Thank you. I recently changed my diet/lifestyle and my scalp is prolly confused asf.Dry shampoo? Are you sure it’s not a fungus? Maybe some Sulfur 8 might help? It's stinky but it works.
I'm grateful I found this forum years ago as well. The knowledge-base I gained from here and from places I learned of here . . . that knowledge-base gives me the confidence, freedom, and power to use my own thinking and brain when it comes to my hair care and styling practices. The social media war against protective/"convenient" styles is real. I don't know why so many people are preaching against practices that have worked for many people for years. Any style can be damaging if not maintained properly. These stylists are working hard to get the diy people and the infrequent customers back. I'm so glad I found this board years ago.
I get the feeling that there are some DIYers that once they achieve their desired goals, are putting out videos of 101 things you need to do once a week to get or retain hair growth. It's crazy work, you wouldn't be able to do all of those things in a week to the same head, unless your ultimate goal is to achieve baldness! I take much of what I see on socials with a sack of salt. The social media war against protective/"convenient" styles is real. I have this on standby based on @snoop 's testimonial. I like ostrich and emu oil so I am expecting to love it.I finally used the tallow on my hair. Not half bad lol kinda reminds me of a lighter version of shea butter. And this one doesnt have a smell. Of course I tried it on hair that already has product on it, so I have yet to use it on naked hair, but so far so good.
