@naturalyogini2
Nice! Straight wigs are too much work for me. I'm a shake and go girl.. Lolol

got my flat twists done yesterday. I have heat damage & my hair wasn't responding to the deep conditioner.

she told me to focus on moisture and do low manipulation styles. she told me I could cut my hair gradually or If I wanted, she could do a big chop if I wanted a fresh start.

I've never had short hair before so I don't know what to do

I was a TWA lace front wig. Only thing stopping is that I'm on a no buy. I may pull the trigger on March 1

To treat a customer like this is just wrong and unprofessional. The stylist was super hostile and aggressive. Seems like her reaction and desire to cut the woman’s hair was motivated by envy because not all of that length needed to be cut. Furthermore, if the client’s hair is anything like mine, no matter how much is bluntly cut off, my hair will grow back in dramatic layers.

Smh. I hope she got up and left. Plenty of other stylists will do her hair and respect her wishes. Lowkey, this is why I learned to just trim my own hair at home.

Hair has energy which means it can absorb the other person's vibes. Personally i don't want a hostile person working on my hair. I would have left. In fact I have left and didn't pay because tbe attitude was so off putting. Back in the day, folks wouldn't let a pregnant woman work on their hair. The belief was that the hair would fall out??? Same concept. Hair has energy.

I was seeing
her bleached hair
under the hat
before I scrolled
down to see
what was under
the hat and
wondering how can
she try to talk
down to people
for using box
color when she
BLEACHES her hair.
Talk of the pot
calling the kettle
black.

Also, when she
was showing the
lady how much
she has to cut
off, she is so
full of it!

Ladies, please learn
to take care of
your own hair.
I won't even
let a hair
scientist who has
an advanced degree
on the subject,
lay a finger on
my hair. Let
me fix my issues
my damn self.

I will go to
a barber for
a TWA and
fade before I
trust any of
these weirdos with
my hair. :angry2:

Wait...the stylist
was making the
video? Cuz
I thought she
adjusted it to
make sure it
was in focus.
She must have
thought she was
clocking it, huh?

So I ordered some incense from a vendor in DC. I'm in NY. Went to bed last night and the package was in NJ. Checked this morning and my package was in Puerto Rico! How the he$$ did the PO mistake NY for PR! Is it me or is mail delivery getting worse! OK rant over.

So interesting that
this showed up
on my stream

Cuz a couple
of days ago
I saw this:

After a brief vacay in PR, my package is in NY!

for those who big chopped, was it actually easier to manage your hair? i want to do a bob but how would i put my hair in a ponytail?

also debating cutting it myself. i was actually happy with my bubbles salon cut even though he didnt flat iron my roots correctly at all. it took months after that cut to see any split ends so i think the shears used were much better than what i have.

i’ve got roughly 8 inches of new growth all around, with some 6 inches and some as long as 10. i’m not sure i have long enough hair in all sections for the look i want.

I made the jar of biocomplex in December. Used it twice because I only take my hair down every 6-7 weeks.

I’m using the rest up as a spritz because I don’t want it to go bad.

I think I’ll take my hair down at 5 weeks before I go vacation.

I'm contemplating getting a professional silk press within the next 1 - 4 months, I'm also contemplating buying a Tymo proflip and one of their straightening brushes.

Yesterday I got some very positive feedback on the infused oils I made last year. My friend said that her son's hair grew a lot and her daughter's psoriasis on her scalp really cleared up while they were using them. After considering the easiest way to use the oils on my hair, I've decided to go with an overnight prepoo once or twice per month, I hope I see some benefits too.

@Angel of the North - would you mind sharing what is in the infused oil please? I’ve been trying different things for psoriasis, which haven’t helped enough.

I was planning on using my profile on this site as a living record of my hhj since everything's time stamped, but I realized a much simpler way of doing it is just using the notes function on my gcal. I can note down every little thing I do to track changes in routine, length checks, etc and not have to come online and scroll to find them.

That's the way I went when I jumped back onto my HHJ, I realised 2 days ago that my notes end in August, I think there are a few threads that I have posted in that would have captured some wash days and the products used, I will have to go back and look for them. It was easier when I used to write all down as I used to do it at the end of whatever I had done to my hair, I was also much younger and less forgetful. Getting my hair journal back on track is very much a priority for me right now.

I basically just did another big chop a few months ago and the experience has been the same as my last few. I love the carefree TWA look and then when it starts growing out, I actually think a mini/medium fro (which is a straightened chin length bob) is quite high maintenance. My styles do not last as long on my longer hair and I can't just throw it into a ponytail/bun, so I end up having to restyle more frequently. So just something to keep in mind.

Right now, I'm too busy to be bothered, so I've been doing braids until I get around shoulder length.
