Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

found a more affordable hair salon that is close by (less than 10 minutes) from me. Booked my appointment for Jan 17th for a blowout and trim
Salon had great reviews and affordable prices.

I'm excited to get my natural hair back on track. It's not in bad shape but I can def tell I'll need a good trim once I take these braids out. I want to wear my hair out and style it in cute styles. I want a really big fro:afro:

I shouldn’t have gotten this second kitten.

Hindsight is always 20-20.

If I save 24k in two years will I spend it on a townhouse or a tummy tuck with lipo???

Cecred is one of the worst things I’ve ever tried for my hair. I disliked it on the first use. I decided to add some shea butter to the conditioner this time (literally works for every other conditioner that I use). Not this one. AFTER the deep conditioner, my hair felt like I’d used to a cheap, clarifying shampoo on it. My hair was dry and tangled (my hair was detangled and washed in sections). I don’t even understand it. To the trash this goes. Disappointing,
Cecred didn’t work for me either. I have the hydrating shampoo, regular conditioner, reconstructor, and deep conditioner. My hair feels so dry after using them. The regular conditioner and deep conditioner are the worst. No slip whatsoever.

Thinking about my hair goals for 2025 and all I want is to give myself a break lol. Gonna be doing more protective styles or outsourcing to stylists (finally) because I love my hair but I need a break.

Gave myself a hair cut a couple weeks ago and my hair looked great in a twist out but I am really enjoying the box braids my cousin did and might continue that every quarter this year.

I’m so sad to hear this I bough the hydrating shampoo, regular conditioner, reconstructor, and moisturizing lotion on Black Friday. I’ve only tried the lotion, and conditioner so far. They’re fine, but nothing to write home about.

Exactly this. My hair was actually LESS hydrated after using the products. I’m not even sure how something can be that bad. SMH

Does anyone remember the British Black lady on YouTube who changed her hair by incorporating Ayurvedic oils into her regimen? It was a henna-based oil that many of us started to make 5+ years ago. I’m trying to remember her name so that I can make that oil again.

CurlyProverbz?
YES!
I’ve sold a house, moved, started a new job and bought a new home since then, so I couldn’t remember her name for the life of me! Thank you!

I cut my hair about 18 months ago down to about 2 inches. I decided to grow it out about a year ago (retained everything except what I trimmed over the past year), so I need to actually get back to my tried-and-true methods now that I’ve decided to grow again. This is perfect.

This is why I love this forum!

Using my steamer today I really feel an extreme amount of gratitude. Being on this board back in my college days the thought of a steamer or niche products wasn’t a thing. I was happy for bogo at Walgreens before Neutragena went crazy and stopped making their leave in. Now I’m sitting doing my hair with good quality items like hair is a hobby. It’s sometimes wild days you pray for things but your so busy trying to go to the next that you can’t see what’s here.

I have been wig free for 3 months but tonight I found myself on my fav wig site looking at half wigs. I see a order coming bc I’m tired of looking blah.

Silk press next friday!!! So excited to get my hair done!
I haven't had a silk press in a while so I'm due for a good trim.

I'm sticking to my no-buy until further notice and i'll get some knotless braids in June, right in time for summer. Until then, i'll get my hair treated bi-weekly at the salon. I'm starting swim lessons tomorrow so i'll be wearing a swim cap. Tonight i'm starting to go to weekly dance classes.

Just over here pulling on my braids under this crochet hair. Clapping my hands virtually, saying Hercules, Hercules !!

The amount I paid for this Max Growth , In four weeks , I better get my coins worth.

I’m thinking I’m going to be pleasantly surprised though. I started December 17th and I’m halfway through the bottle. When I take my hair down , next Friday I’ll probably be 3/4 of the way finished.
