Hey Ladies,

There was a post a few months back discussing the R. Session Root Control tool that runs for $179. :spinning:

I wanted it BAD because I am transitioning to natural but I have not fully embraced my puffy roots. Truth be told, I honestly don't know what to do with my hair, since bantu knots and twists always end up looking bad. But I digress.
So, I want the RSession Root Control tool, but I am not willing to pay so much for it. However, after many vigorous internet searches, I was able to find a more affordable option at Target!!! :grin::grin::grin:

They are basically the same thing, but way cheaper at Target with FREE SHIPPING.

I know a couple of LHCF members have this model.

However, I think I will stick with the RSessions model at that great price! I should receive it by early next week. Once, I get it I will write a review.

that is great, I've also been thinking about this tool but I'm in Canada, so it won't be free shipping :(
 
It looks exactly like the 'rea'l thing! Same color, controls, and style of the iron. :look: I'm looking forward to your review of it, at that price, you can't go wrong!

I like it, though I seldom use it. It gets right at the roots The only issue I had was that, even with the first use, it seemed to leave a slight "burning hair" odor in my hair -- but it didn't burn my hair. My flat iron, a T3 that I have had for years, has NEVER done that. And I use next to no product in my hair when I wear it straight. I'm going to try cleaning it really well before the next use and see if that helps.
 
Not to hijack your thread in any way OP, but that's exactly why I went back to my CHI. I used the CHI before, but I had been using my Sedu for 2 years and no matter what the technique, I could not get to my roots to save my life on that thing!! I was looking like I had a helmet! My hair would look horrible because my roots were a puffy mess and the rest was sleek. Went back to my CHI last wash and my hair roots looked relaxed (I had an inch+ of thick new growth). My roots have not budged -- they still look sleek, and my hair has so much body. I think the issue with the sedu was that 1) It was too big and 2) the way the edges/outer plates of the iron were designed. So if you try the tool and do not like the results, I would def say look into a CHI. They have the real small model for roots as well.

I am considering getting a CHI after watching several youtube videos. What model do you have?

I have the original model (pink for breast cancer awareness) 1 inch with no temp control (it heats to 370). Funny this model gives me better results than temp control irons. My hair is straight but with LOTS of body :yep:
 
great...i had a feeling i shouldn't come into this thread.

I aaalways have a problem with my roots and i dont even bother trying to get my edges. will be looking into this some more :)

eta: i wouldn't use like in the video either. i dont think i'd run it through my whole length the comb looks toooo fine

OMG!! Thanks sooo much for this. I remember seeing the RSession tool in a magazine a long time ago. Found it on ebay, brand new....price starting at $18.00. The bid ended without me putting in a bid because I was on LHCF. I was too mad. :lachen:
 
I haven't tried this particular product but have a supersmall flat iron that i use on my roots. I recently tried the tension method for blowdrying on my roots and found that i had the same results (if not better) than when i used the flat iron.
 
UPDATE:

Thanks so much OP. I received my iron today and it is as stated on the box "the original patent pending design", this is the same iron that sells for $179.
 
WOW, the price is insane!!!

I bought a ceramic pressing comb on eBay for 39.99 plus shipping, & when i do straighten, it works very well. it goes up to 400 degrees (but i'm able to get bone straight roots on 320), & i like it even more than my tourmaline ceramic flat iron.
