Quick Question from a Newbie ... Does anyone "prep" their hair for a touchup?

Just wondering what, if anything, people do to prepare their hair for a touchup. Whether it's something to prevent overlap of the relaxer on already relaxed hair or something else. Going to the hairdresser tonite for a touchup and was just wondering ... :look:

For my last 2 touch-ups (at the salon), I saturated my previously relaxed hair with conditioner and also chi silk infusion. I don't want NO slip-ups.

I do my own touch-ups. I try to base my scalp the day before and the day of. I find that if I wait until the day of, I get impatient and don't do the best job.

I also coat my previously relaxed hair with conditioner.

Leading up to a touch-up, I do a few more protein treatments.

I clarify and do a ApHogee protein treatment a day or two before. The day of the relaxer I base my hairline well and saturate my ends with petroleum jelly or oil.

I usually base my scalp right before my touchup and then use some of the on the length of my hair. I may need to start using conditioner instead on the length.
